January most played

Hi fairies,
As usual it’s time for January most played, an appointment I can’t miss, I’m addicted and I love reading other bloggers most played posts, I always find new products I want to try!

before starting l’ll link you to the team most played creator’s blog, Goldenvi0let, where you can find all the info you need to join in if you haven’t already!

This month I really enjoyed wearing soft pink lipstick shades, and I’d like to mention Mac snob among them all , which is a cool , soft pink that makes my lips look natural, fresh and pouty, I can wear it with smoky eyes and dramatic makeup looks to tone lips down, but I can also wear with nude eyes and a winged cat line, it looks classy and lovely!

I also like wearing bold colors on my lips, I don’t think I’ll never stop loving them , and my favourite this month has been Lime Crime velvetine in wicked, a deep, dark red , burgundy red , very wintry and very intense! Velvetines are lip tint and their finish is completely matte, once they set on your lips they last  almost all day, they don’t go anywhere, they’re like second skin! Are they similar to Mac retro matte? No, they are totally different, retro matte have got a velvety finish , they don’t set into fine lines and they are lipsticks, they don’t set like lip tints but they are extremely longlasting, more than Velvetines actually. Velvetines don’t look velvety, if your lips are dry I don’t think you’re going to like them. Here you can find more details on them, all in all I think they’re quite unique and worth having!

This month I’ve been using my latest addiction to my pigment collection, Mac teal loose pigment: it is a gorgeous shade of teal with green, purple, fuchsia and silver microglitter in it and I love it! I used it for simple teal smoky eyes or in combo with other shades , and it hasn’t disappointed me! Mac pigment’s quality is great, I’ve got other brands but no shade is as complex and full of iridescence like them, the powder is so fine and it sticks to eyelids like no other, they’re definitely worth the money!

I’ve got oily skin and it’s not easy to find a good mattifying face powder, but I think I found the one perfect for me, and it’s Mac set powder! It’s a translucent powder that keeps my skin shine free longer than any other powders I’ve tried so far, maybe Sexy Mama by the balm can compare to this one but, apart from that, no other is as effective as this is! I love it, it doesn’t look cakey and it minimizes pores, giving my face an airbrushed finish!

Let’s move to skin care products, this month the two I used the most are Kiko purifying scrub, a new addition to my skin care routine: it’s formulated for oily skin and it’s got micro grains inside that work really well at exfoliating and cleansing pores deeply, I love the feeling I get after using it, my skin feels clean and glowy! It’s definitely too aggressive for dry to combo skin, but if you’ve got oily skin like mine you should try it! I’ll write a full review soon, but I repurchased it already so that tells you I really love it!

last product of the month is the body shop Vitamin E face cream: I’ve been using it as night cream because it’s rich and it’s too much for me as day cream, but it’s perfect for dry skin as it’s moisturizing  but it’s not sticky, it gets absorbed really fast! Here you can read my full review, I also love its smell, it’s not the first time I buy it and it won’t be the last!

that’s it for this month, see you next month with more most played!

Ciao fatine,

January empties aka all good things come to an end

Hi fairies,
It’s the end of the month and it’s time to open my empties box to find out how many products I used through January; are you ready?!

There’s only one makeup item, unfortunately I didn’t get rid of anything else but my Maybelline mascara the falsies, here you can read my review on it, my favourite drugstore mascara without a doubt! It volumizes and lengthens my lashes more than some highend mascaras, to me it’s definitely worth buying it and I’m going to repurchase it once I run out of a couple of tubes I’ve got in stock!

I ran out of both my base and top coat, Kiko 3 in 1 shine fortifying base and top coat, and Kiko smooth base protective ridge filler base coat: I like them, I’ve been using them for more than two years and I have no intention of trying anything else, they do their job and they’re cheap, I’m happy with them!

this month I used a black African soap bar I bought few months ago, and I have to repurchase it because I really love it, it’s delicate on my skin, it helps keeping shine under control, it helps with rashes and dry patches, it’s an awesome soap and this one is made in Africa under a fair trade project that helps women to be independent; I’ll soon write a full review on this soap, I think it will be interesting for those of you who never heard about it!

as usual I finished a shea butter jar, I use it on my elbows and heels, I also apply it in my under eye area for deep conditioning and it works better than any eye cream, and I mix it with coconut oil for deep conditioning my hair, it’s a product I can’t live without! Even though my skin is oily, shea butter is amazing to keep my under eye area moisturized , smooth and firm! I use it before going to sleep , and it works wonders!

My body lotion this month has been the body shop ginger sparkle one, which I love! Unfortunately the ginger sparkle line is not available anymore, it was part of Christmas holiday collections till last year, this year has been replaced by glazed apple which smells really good, but I prefer this one to be honest, that’s why I waited so long to use it, I didn’t want to run out of it! I stocked it up last year and now I haven’t got any left, I’m so sad!

a product I always have on hand is  makeup wipes, I bought these at the grocery store just because there was a special offer, and I really liked them, they’re saturated with product, they remove almost any kind of makeup, they’re big, they work well and I’ve been looking for them ever since but so far I haven’t found them yet.

The product you always find in my empty box is the body shop body butter, and this month’s one is the Brazilian nut one, which I love! It’s got a heavenly scent I don’t know how to describe, I can smell a bit of vanilla and a bit of cookie, but it’s not too sweet, it’s light and delicious!
This body butter is one of the thickest and most nourishing available, perfect in winter in my opinion!

I talked about L’Oreal sunkiss in this post, I find it’s a good product to lighten your hair and get a natural result, that’s why I repurchased three or four times since last summer ! you won’t get an obvious result, it’s more gradual and subtle so if you’re thinking of going lighter but you’re not sure it’s a good idea you could try it!

Last product is castor oil, I apply it on my lashes and nails every night before going to bed because it’s said to help them grow faster, and it does that! You need to apply it regularly and you’ll see results in one month time; my lashes are definitely longer than they used to be, and a bit thicker , and I won’t stop using it for sure!

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more empties!

Ciao fatine,

One product review : the body shop seaweed pore cleanser exfoliator

Hi fairies,
I’ve recently felt adventurous and I tried different exfoliators than my favourite one, my holy grail for years, because I thought maybe there were even better products than that one but I would never find them out if I didn’t try!
I love the The Body Shop seaweed line, that’s why I felt this pore cleanser was a good choice for me and for my skin type, so I went ahead, I bought it and I used it all!

Let’s see how it’s described: A soap-free facial scrub that effectively deep cleanses blocked pores and exfoliates to remove dead skin cells, excess oils, impurities and daily grime. Price 14.50 $ - 10.00 € for 75 ml /2.5 US fl oz.

What I like: I use it daily as part of my morning routine, and I like the fresh, marine scent it’s got, it really gives me a boost of energy and god knows I need it in the morning! It’s not too intense or overwhelming, it’s nice and subtle; I squeeze a pea size amount of product on my hand and I massage it on my  damp skin with circular motions, and I can definitely feel micro grains in it , in fact they are quite big but they’re not aggressive on the skin; once you rinse it off your skin feels clean, smooth, cleansed and radiant, I’ve noticed it’s got a healthy glow to it after using it every day for a month or so, and it helps me keep shine at bay, it helps me keeping breakouts under control  and it minimizes pores’ appearance! It could be a good scrub for combo skin as well, all you have to do is using it once or twice a week, not more than that. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all, it’s gentle and I think it’s suitable for sensitive skin too.

What I don’t like : I’d like micro grains to be a bit finer to clean deeper and to be more effective against clogged pores, even if I haven’t got them but still , many people have and this scrub is for oily skin so it should be a bit stronger in my opinion. I appreciate how gentle it is on my skin though, so it’s just difficult to choose and to find the perfect balance! It is both a cleanser and a scrub and while I find it very convenient I know some people prefer to get two separate products, especially when you’ve got combo skin and you don’t need a scrub every day.

My verdict: it is a good cleanser and scrub , it’s not expensive, it does its job, my skin feels smooth, clean and it doesn’t breakout, in my opinion it’s good for daily use and for combo to oily skin; it might be too mild for acne prone skin though. Will l repurchase it? It hasn’t replaced my favourite but I might repurchase it every now and then!

Ciao fatine,

Vediamo come viene descritto: Cremoso e delicato, esfolia e purifica a fondo i pori, grazie
all'azione di efficaci ingredienti naturali: perle di jojoba, microgranuli di noccioli d'oliva e frammenti di loofah. Prezzo 14.50 $ 10.00 € per 75 ml /2.5 US fl. Oz.

World of beauty neroli vivace nuova linea / new line

Hi fairies, I’m very pleased to have the chance to try the new Neroli Vivace line by World of beauty and I’m thrilled to talk about it to...
