April most played

Hi fairies,
it’s time for the most played of the month, a tag created by GoldenVi0let: here’s the link to her blog where you can find all the info to join the team most played if you haven’t already!

april_most_played

In April I’ve been experimenting with two new liptints, new for myself of course, not new on the market, the first one is Wycon liptint in number 27 nude: it might sound shocking but I’ve just recently placed my first Wycon’s order, I had never tried anything out of this brand and now I wonder why I waited so long! I’ve heard so many good things about these liptints and now I understand why: they’ve got a very thin texture , which means they are extremely lightweight, very comfortable, not drying, they don’t crack, they aren’t sticky and they are long lasting! I bought number 27 and number 03 dusty rose, a color I’m in love with! They both perform the same, there’s no difference between them but I love number 03 more just because I think it complements my skin a bit better.

april_most_played

april_most_played

In the same range of color there’s another liptint, LA splash rose garden: unlike Wycon’s, this one feels very dry on the lips , in my opinion is the driest liptint I’ve ever tried but, once it’s set, it becomes quite comfortable , it doesn’t crack and it doesn’t fade away in an unpleasant way. I love the shade and ,all in all, I haven’t got any problems wearing it , I might try some more colors !

april_most_played

I’ve been using Mac  prep and prime cc face powder in lavender, here you can read my full review, there isn’t much left in my jar and I might repurchase it once I got rid of some new face powders I own; it’s basically like the prep and prime face powder but it’s colored, in this case it’s lavender and it brightens up fair skin like mine.

april_most_played

Last product I’d like to mention is Mac springsheen blush, a gorgeous peachy blush with golden specks in it that is, in my opinion, underrated: it matches several skin tones, it’s buildable and classy, very long lasting and it goes well with different eye makeup looks. It’s the first Mac blush I bought and I’m trying to use it often because I want to hit pan , but to be honest I also like it a lot! This shade was the only shade I used basically all my life , up to seven years ago, when I found out other shades looked even better on myself!
april_most_played

that’s it for this month, see you next month with more most played!

ciao fatine,

One product review Makeup Forever mono artist eyeshadows

Hi fairies,
Today we’re talking about makeup forever artist eyeshadows , or to be precise about the only one I own! I’ve heard so many good things about them that I decided to try one and see if they were as good as people claimed they were, and I picked a metallic teal shade that immediately caught my attention.

Let’s see how they’re described: A highly-blendable, gel-powder eye shadow and powder blush with vivid color payoff. Effortlessly create endless eye looks that range from beautifully natural to highly artistic with this unique eye shadow palette. With its breakthrough, gel-powder formula blended with ultrafine pigments, Artist Shadow leaves a smooth, even result that gives lids super-saturated, lasting color. An easily-blendable formula that features diamond, iridescent, matte, metallic, and satin finishes, it is an accessible shadow for the professional makeup artist and the everyday woman.  Price 21.00 $ - 18.50 €.

makeup_forever_Mono_eyeshadow_review

Color : I’ve got the color me 304 Lagoon Blue (metallic) , a shimmery teal with a metallic finish, it’s very pigmented and vibrant , the color pay off is really good! The color is even and it doesn’t go on patchy or streaky, once it’s applied you can still see the metallic finish , it almost looks like you applied it wet! It’s definitely one of the most pigmented eyeshadows I’ve ever tried.

Texture/finish: it’s different from any other eyeshadows, it feels almost creamy, very buttery and velvety ; the best way to apply is by using a synthetic brush that helps packing the color up, or by using your fingers but I prefer using a brush because it’s more precise. It’s great when you want the color to be vivid and defined, it’s not that great when you need to blend the color out , you need to work with it to get a nice gradient and that’s why I don’t use it in my crease but I use it on my lid: there are many other blendable eyeshadows , this one is just not meant for that. There’s basically no fall out due to the gel like consistency, which is awesome!
makeup_forever_Mono_eyeshadow_review

Lasting power: it lasts really long, all day , it doesn’t crease and it doesn’t fade. It’s one of those eyeshadows you put on and you don’t have to worry about how it looks , you can be sure it will stay in place till you’re back home, it’s very reliable ! it doesn’t get dry , it doesn’t feel uncomfortable, it’s a great product and it performs really well!

My verdict: at first I found the texture weird and I had to try it a couple of time and experiment with it till I got to understand how to get the best out of it, and now I really like it for vibrant and bold looks! Quality is good and the color range is really wide, I want to try different textures , especially matte one, because I’ve heard they are amazing! the only downside in my opinion is the price: they’re a bit too expensive , there are cheaper eyeshadows that work just as well, or almost as well as these ones .

Ciao fatine,

vediamo come vengono descritti
: I nuovi ombretti Make Up For Ever permettono di sublimare lo sguardo con 5 finish diversi: Mat, Satinato, Shimmer, Metallizzato e Diamante.

eye makeup look smokey maroon

 Hi fairies,
This look is not what most people would wear in spring, it’s more suitable for fall, but I’m not most people and today I felt the need to use burgundy shades regardless of what season we’re in!
It’s an easy look to achieve, I didn’t use too many eyeshadows, the key is blending the colors very well to avoid any harsh lines; I applied a matte warm burgundy shade all over my lid, stopping just below my natural crease and blending the edges with a fluffy brush; in the crease I added a caramel eyeshadow to create a nice gradient , and I also added a light orange shade to help blending the colors out. I intensified the outer corner by adding a matte black eyeshadow on a pencil brush, I think a smoky eye looks better when you add a tiny bit of black in the outer corner, it gives more depth to the look. In the inner corner I used a shimmery mint green to add some freshness to this look, I know it’s an unexpected choice but it worked well in my opinion! I smoked out the lower lashline with the burgundy eyeshadow, and I completed the look with a black winged liner and mascara, and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

Kiko The artist l.e. haul

Hi fairies,
today I want to show you what I bought out of the Kiko spring limited edition called the artist. When it came out I said to myself I wouldn’t have bought anything, but I obviously changed my mind because I love trying new products and I was curious about few of them! I didn’t buy much, I skipped lipsticks and eye pencils as well as the new foundation , which sounds interesting but it’s not the best formula for oily skin like mine.
An explosion of colour. Lines and contrasts. The bright hues are like a breath of fresh air.
Let’s see how the collection is described:

Make-up becomes art, and voilà: a cheerful colour palette captures a bubbly, lively femininity in all its splendor. This is the muse of The Artist, the new KIKO MILANO collection inspired by the world of art. Make-up takes to the stage, providing the right tools for promoting creativity and tapping into talents. And if it is true that art knows no limits, then a revitalizing serum, foundation and powder are essential for preparing a radiant canvas on which endless beautiful looks will be painted. The face’s proportions are in harmony, thanks to the highlighting twist-up pen. The eye pencil’s bold line, the eyeliner’s adjustable stroke and the eyeshadow’s bright colour transform your eyes into dramatic masterpieces. The lips are full and shiny. A versatile make-up pochette with dual use and three professional make-up brushes for applying the various products complete the limited-edition collection. The packaging reflects the style of “The Artist” collection with colourful paint splashes and high-relief brush strokes.Don’t just observe, but dare to experiment. With "The Artist," it’s time to express your beauty with make-up becoming a picture that says a thousand words.

kiko_the_artist_haul

Here’s what I purchased: I love loose pigments, I don’t find them difficult to work with and I think the color pay off is so good it’s worth the struggle (if any), so I bought one of them but I didn’t go for a bright color this time, I picked number 01 bespoke rose. They’re called artist stroke mineral loose eyeshadows and the packaging is different from any other I’ve ever seen: there is a net instead of a sifter , which is soft and bouncy, so if you don’t pay attention you’ll get too much pigment out and it’s going to get messy ! I find the net useful though, it allows to get the pigment out without any efforts. The color is a pink beige with golden shimmer to it, it can be used wet or dry, when used wet the golden sheen comes out more intense and the color pay off is definitely better. Price 6.90 £-6.90 €

kiko_the_artist_haul

I purchased the velvet loose mineral beauty powder in number 01 very light. It’s described as a loose illuminating powder with silky effect for an ultra fine brilliance. When I opened it I thought it looked so dark for my complexion, it’s actually a peachy color , but once applied it it melts with my skin and it looks light pink, which I like . it can be used all over your face or as a highlighter, but it’s not very shiny and the result is subtle,  there aren’t glitters in it, it just gives a nice glow to the skin , for a healthy and fresh look. The shade is perfect to brighten up a yellow complexion , I really like it! It’s got the same net as the pigments as you can see. Price 10.90 £-10.90 €
kiko_the_artist_haul

The last thing I bought is the blooming glow revitalizing face serum but I have to try it yet so I can’t tell you anything about it. It definitely looks nice with all those tiny, colorful, pearls inside, it comes in a see through glass bottle so it has to be kept in a safe place as it can easily break, but I like the packaging as it’s very classy . it’s described as a Revitalizing facial serum with vitamin PP, A and E microspheres to give the skin a boost of moisture, evenness and luminosity. A unique formula with active ingredients capable of moisturizing, smoothing and evening out the skin. In line with the style of the collection “The Artist”, Blooming Glow is packaged in a modern airless glass bottle that preserves the formula of the serum. Price 13.90 £- 13.90 €.

kiko_the_artist_haul

That’s all I got, I’m tempted to buy the pearl cushion highlighter but I’ve already got too many of them and I want to use some before adding new ones to my collection, at least I want to try! Have you bought anything out of the artist collection? Do you like it?

Italian version:

ciao fatine,

Fatemi sapere!

One product review the body shop nutriganics softening cleansing gel /gel detergente antietà

Hi fairies,
Today I want to share with you my opinion about a cleansing gel I was very curious to try, the body shop nutriganics softening cleansing gel : I’ve been a loyal The Body Shop customer for years, I love most of their products, and I thought it was time to give the Nutriganics line a shot, as it’s specifically formulated for women within 30 and 40 years of age to help improve the appearance of the skin and smooth the first sign of ageing, and I’m not a teen anymore, so maybe I would benefit from specific products like these ones!

as stated on the body shop online page, The benefits of the Nutriganics™ organic skincare range will undoubtedly appeal to those who are looking for alternative anti-ageing products. Combining Community Trade babassu oil with 14 other organic ingredients. Nutriganics™ is our first certified organic skincare range for addressing the first signs of ageing.

the_body_shop_nutriganics_softening_cleansing_gel

Let’s see how the cleansing gel is described: Our certified organic range has been created for the first signs of ageing. This innovative gel-to-oil cleanser removes impurities and even waterproof make-up gently but easily. Parabens free, 99% natural ingredients. Price 10.00 £ -11.00 € for 100 ml.

What I like : it’s got an gel consistency and, at first , I was worried it might be too heavy for my skin type, which is oily, but I have to say it works well and it doesn’t leave my skin greasy at all! I rinse it very well with warm water and that’s all I need to get rid of the excess; I apply a small amount and I rub it gently, till it gets foamy; it feels very gentle on my skin, but at the same time it removes impurities and it leaves my skin smooth and soft, cleansed! I use it as part of my morning routine and my skin is ready for makeup, I really like this cleanser as it’s not aggressive nor drying but it’s effective! I also love the light and fresh smell, a great way to start my day! A little goes a long way, it’s not expensive in the long run because a tube will last for month.
the_body_shop_nutriganics_softening_cleansing_gel

What I don’t like : I read some uses it as makeup remover, but it doesn’t work well for me , it’s too light and I need to rub a lot, which is not worth it in my opinion as there are way better makeup removers out there; it’s not a deep cleanser or a scrub, it won’t get rid of black heads and it won’t exfoliate, you’ll need a more specific products for that. All in all it’s a good everyday cleanser.

My verdict: I like it for everyday use because it’s not too strong, it doesn’t dry or irritate my skin but it cleanses it and leaves it soft and smooth; I love the smell, I think quality price ratio is good because you only need a pea size amount each time, therefore it will last for a long time. I think it’s suitable for delicate skin as well, it’s very gentle and you shouldn’t have any redness by using it. I recommend it!

the_body_shop_nutriganics_softening_cleansing_gel

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

eye makeup look artsy and futuristic

hi fairies,
you can’t even imagine how much I love creative and artistic makeup, it’s my favorite kind because it allows to express part of our own personality and mood, and it helps practicing and getting better; I’ve still got a lot to learn when it come to makeup technique, and I try everyday to improve my skills by challenging myself on different kind of makeup looks, just like I did today with this one: I started by doing a very simple and neutral smoky eye, and I applied a beige eyeshadow in my crease to give a bit of depth, and then I applied a cold brown shade in the outer corner and I blended it very well. On my lower lash line I first drew a very thick white line with an eye pencil, and I set it with a matte white eyeshadow, and under that I added a turquoise line, and I winged them both out. I filled in my eye brows with the same turquoise color, and then I drew an orange line starting from my inner corner going across my eye brow, followed by a tinier white line. That’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,
