Smaltopedia #7 - pastel triangles

Hi fairies,
This week we’ve got a geometric pastel pattern by One Nail to rule them all for smaltopedia, and I could have used striping tape but that would have been to easy!

http://onenailtorulethemall.blogspot.it/

I painted them freehand instead, just to make it more challenging! No actually I didn’t want to keep it on for more than one day and, to be honest, I tried to spend as less time as possible to realize it..and it shows! My golden lines are huge compared to the original pic, and not nearly as straight! Anyway, I like the pattern itself cuz it’s cute and simple and it can be realized with any colors of your choice!

That’s it for now, l hope you like it and l’ll leave the links to smaltopedia’s creators’ blogs and fb pages:

Ciao fatine,
Questa settimana la Smaltopedia ci propone un disegno geometrico sui toni pastello di One Nail to rule them all , ed avrei potuto usare lo striping tape, ma poi sarebbe stato troppo facile!

http://onenailtorulethemall.blogspot.it/

I ♥ rainbow! cut crease makeup look

Hi fairies,
To me there’s nothing more magical and beautiful than a rainbow with its colors, the perfect arch shape, that glow that makes me think of fairies and pixies..everything about rainbows is whimsical and fascinating! That’s why rainbow makeup is one of my favourite, I enjoy creating it, I love wearing it, it makes me smile, it can immediately wipe clouds from my heart , it just makes me happy!
Today’s rainbow look is not only very vibrant, it’s also bold with a purple cut crease and I really like it! On my lid I applied yellow in the inner corner, followed by orange and by a bright fuchsia; the eyeliner is Lime Crime Citreuse, an acid yellow green I really like! I hope you like it!
teaser: stay tuned for more rainbow looks with the UD electric palette!

Diary of a shopaholic: china glaze, the balm, nyx, red cherry, occ and more!

Hi fairies,
Today I want to show you some new products I’ve bought , products I’ve been wanting to try for ages without having the chance to, so you can imagine how happy l was to eventually be able to purchase them!

Let’s start straight away: first one is the infamous Nyx jumbo eye pencil nr 604 in milk! I’m sure you’ve heard about it, you all know how loved it is and how praised it is as an eyeshadow base, I do know all about it but I had no chance of finding it and in my mind it was like an unicorn, I knew it was out there somewhere but l never saw it! Never …till now! Yes, here it is! Look at it, isn’t it gorgeous?! I’ve already tried it a couple of times and I totally understand the hype: it’s very creamy and, once you’ve blended it on your lid  , any eyeshadows or pigments will stick to it beautifully, fall out will be only a memory, colors will get enhanced and be very bright and they will last all day without creasing! When l say no fall out l mean pigments won’t have any fall out, how awesome is that? In my opinion it’s absolutely fantastic! It is my new favourite eyeshadow base!

Second product I’ve got is another Lime Crime lipstick, this one is Retrofuturist, a true red; it is very creamy , it seems to me it’s a bit creamier than the other one l’ve got , countessa fluorescent, but I’ve only tried it once and I need more time to test it and find out if its texture is different , we’ll see. For now l can tell you l love the color, it’s so vibrant!

Let’s move on to another brand I’ve been longing to try for years, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics aka OCC : l haven’t bought any lip tars, the most famous brand products, I went instead for their concealer, which I’ve heard it’s really good, and a loose pigment in a peacock green, almost a duo chrome. I’ll write a review of concealer after trying it out, I haven’t even opened it yet but I’m very satisfied with these two babies!

I bought my second Sigma brush, the E47 , a small crease brush perfect to apply color exactly where you want to and create beautiful gradients or intensify the color you previously applied. I’m in love with the first one l bought, you can see it here, they’re good quality and they’re not expensive, l definitely recommend them!

I also picked two Red Cherry false lashes, they are inexpensive and they come in so many different styles it was hard to choose, but eventually l made up my mind and didn’t buy dramatic ones but more natural looking ones.

Another purchase l’m excited about is The Balm Sexy Mama anti shine translucent powder : I like to try new powders and everybody talks about The Balm as a good brand, I had to try one of their products! I didn’t go for bronzer because I’m not into bronzers too much, I’ve got the one l need and I’m not buying another one till it’s gone, I’m more into mattifying powders! Packaging is very cute and vintage and it’s in pressed cardboard , with a pin up who reminds me of Marilyn Monroe, the most beautiful woman ever in my opinion, and it’s very thin so you can put it in your handbag and take it with you for quick touch ups; there’s a mirror inside and it’s big enough to be actually useful, I like how functional it is. I’ll tell you more about the product after using it for a while.

Let’s move on to nail polishes: I can’t resist them and I went into a nail polish frenzy as I always do :D  and l bought one gorgeous purple from wet n wild nr 231c in Buffy the Violet Slayer, and three china glaze, which is one of my favourite brand for quality, price and color range. Unfortunately l had the ability to pick a dupe between hundred of colours, I found it out once l was back home :D let’s say the one l already had was old, there was just a bit left and color had changed , therefore it was time to get rid of it! It’s the turquoise ,nr 1007 Turned up turquoise, a bright creamy teal color I love,  and the other two are a bright fuchsia, nr 1003 Purple Panic,  and a glittery one from an old The Cirque du Soleil collection , nr 1194 it’s a trap-eze! A milky white base with lots of silver glitters and chunky glitters in red, green, silver and gold: a must have for a glitter addicted like me! I’ve also got two Essence nail polishes, they’re so inexpensive it’s hard to resist: I bought the lavender from the Bloom me up! Collection,nr 02 Lovely Lavender, because I’ve already got the mint green and I’m impressed with the color, with the coverage and with how long it lasts; I hope this one performs just like its brother! Last one is from the kalinka collection, nr 04 green scene and it’s a creamy green mint I had to have (as if I didn’t have enough already)!

That’s it for now, I hope you enjoyed my shopping as much as I did!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
