One product review Lime Crime Velvetines in Faded

Hi fairies,
Have you tried Lime Crime Velvetines? They’re lip tints and what I like about them is the shade range, definitely unique and “out of the box”! we could talk about the CEO, Doe Deere, but I’d rather not to even if I can tell you I know she’s a shady character and that was why I hadn’t buy any of their products for a while, but then I gave in because this particular shade was too appealing to me!
let’s see how velvetines are described: The liquid matte that started it all. Conceptualized and developed by Lime Crime CEO Doe Deere, Velvetines draw inspiration from her favorite flower - a red, red rose. Doe used to cut out rose petals and paste them onto her lips as a child. Richly pigmented, French vanilla-infused formula glides on as a liquid and dries down to a luxurious, velvety matte finish that lasts for hours and hours. Touch-proof, kiss-proof and utterly addictive. Certified cruelty free and vegan. Price 20.00 $.

one_product_review_lime_crime_velvetines_faded

What I like : the packaging is super cute and girly with red roses all over the lid, there’s no denying that, but what I really like is the product itself! it’s a quite liquid and lightweight liquid lipstick, it’s easy to apply as it goes on evenly without patches nor streaks and the pigmentation is good, you don’t need to layer it on for full coverage. I love this shade, described as a light mauve but, in my opinion, there’s a bit of grey and taupe in it as well, it’s very unique and classy! It sets in a matter of seconds and it turns into a matte finish, extremely comfortable, it seems not to wear any lipstick at all! It doesn’t feel dry, it doesn’t crack, it doesn’t emphasize fine lines and it doesn’t fade away during the day. Lasting power is good, if I don’t eat it’s perfect at the end of the day, if I do eat it might need to be touched up in the middle but it performs well. The formula is the most comfortable I’ve ever tried along with Wycon’s, it’s definitely my favorite!

What I don’t like: the consistency is quite runny when you apply it so you have to be a bit careful else it might be hard to stay within the edges of your lips. It does set very fast, it’s just a matter of applying it carefully. I suggest to match it with a lip pencil for a more precise result. This color, faded, isn’t a color that suits any skin tones, it might be difficult to wear: I love it and I think is one of the best matches for my complexion, but it wouldn’t look as great with olive skin tones in my opinion.

My verdict: one of my absolute favorite both for its color and for its quality, it’s very comfortable and long lasting, I definitely recommend to try at least one velvetine, you won’t be disappointed!

ciao fatine,
No transfer, a prova di bacio e causa dipendenza. Certificazione cruelty free e vegana. Prezzo 20.00 $.

one_product_review_lime_crime_velvetines_faded

wheels on the bus nail art

Hi fairies,
Do you know the “wheels on the bus” song? If you have kids I’m sure you do, that’s where my inspiration for today’s nail art came from, it’s a very cute nail art perfect for young girls, for kids’ parties and for any occasions really, I’m actually wearing mine and I’m going shopping pretty soon!
I used a grey nail polish as my background color and, when it was dry, I painted yellow lines down the middle of my nails but my thumb using a dotting tool (you can also use a toothpick or a nail art brush). On my thumb I first drew a yellow square and I added the side mirrors on both sides of the square; I filled in the square with dark blue, and with silver I added the bumper and wipers. I added black wheels at the bottom and I added eyes too, to make it look cuter! That’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

Eye makeup look metallic copper

Hi fairies,
For today’s look I used a rich metallic copper as the star of my look and, even though it’s not a color I usually reach for, I like the result, it’s bold and dramatic and perfect for summer!
I started by applying a metallic rose gold eyeshadow all over my lid, and then I blended out the edges to defuse any harsh lines; in my crease and in the outer corner of my eyes I placed a metallic copper eyeshadow and I blended where the two colors met. In the outer corner I also added a burgundy and I carefully blended it out. I picked a matte white eyeshadow with a pink hue  to it as my browbone highlighter, and I completed the look with a winged liner and mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review jordana sweet cream matte lipsticks

Hi fairies,
I’m a sucker for matte liquid lipsticks, I gravitate towards them 9 times out of 10 because I like the velvety finish and their lasting power, I like to try new brands and I especially love trying low cost ones because, in my opinion, there are so many great ones and you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a good liptint. I actually have many great low cost lip tints that perform just as well as high cost ones. I had heard good things about Jordana lip tints so I decided to purchase one.

Let’s see how the product is described: Give your lips some sugar, sweetie! Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color starts off as a liquid and melts into a velvety matte finish. Indulge in a light, creamy-whipped feel and dessert-rich shades like Cherry Cobbler and Red Velvet Cake. Infused with a drop of vitamin A—Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color keeps lips comfortable and never dry. Each tempting shade stays fresh on your lips for up to 16 hours. You just got one step closer to yum! Price 4.99 $.

jordana_sweet_crea_matte_lipsticks_review

What I like: I like the see through packaging that allows to see the color, and I also like the small tube, a bit smaller than regular ones, that makes it perfect for travelling or for taking it in your purse. It comes with a doe foot applicator that allows a neat application without smudges. I love the smell, it reminds me of vanilla cupcakes and it’s quite intense but it fades away once it dries on your lips. The texture is not too liquid but it’s not mousse like neither, it’s the right one in my opinion and the product glides on your lips really well. I’ve got two of them, one is Pomegranate Pie 12, a hot pink, and Rose Macaron 09, a pink beige and they both perform the same even though one is definitely more intense than the other. They are very pigmented, one coat will give you full coverage, the color pay off is amazing and the colors are even and not patchy at all. They are very comfortable, once they set the finish is matte and velvety, the lasting power is great, they stay on without cracking or fading away in a weird way, after eating they’re still there, I’ve noticed they fade just a bit in the middle of my lips but a quick touch up will fix it.

What I don’t like:
jordana_sweet_crea_matte_lipsticks_review

I honestly can’t find anything I don’t like about these liquid lipsticks, I think their smell might be too strong for some people, it’s definitely a foodie scent so if you’re not into those kind of fragrances it could be a bit too much for you. It doesn’t last long though, I can’t feel it anymore once they set.

My verdict: I definitely recommend them, the shade range is wide for a low cost product, they perform just as well as high end products, why spending more when you can get a great lip tint for 5 $?!

jordana_sweet_crea_matte_lipsticks_review

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Durata fino a 16 ore

Cookie monster nail art

Hi fairies,
This morning I got a surprise when I opened my cookies jar: they were all gone! I couldn’t figure out what happened, till I saw something blue peeking through my kitchen curtains; at first I thought it was just a figment of my imagination, but after seeing it twice I knew it was real , and I went to check..can you guess what or who I found hiding in there? It was the cookie monster! His naughty self ate all my cookies and I had to bake another batch!
For my nail art I painted my thumb and ring finger with a blue nail polish, and I chose a light hazelnut brown for the rest of my nails; painting the cookie monster face is quite easy: I first drew two white dots at about one third of my nail, and once they were dry I placed two smaller black dots inside them to represent pupils; I painted his mouth in black , and basically it was done! On the rest of my nails I painted cookies, and I first placed  quite big random brown dots all over them, and then I outlined them in black and I added some brown little dots that represent chocolate chips, and that’s it , I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

World of beauty summer haul

Hi fairies,
if you’ve been following me for a while you’ll probably remember me talking about World of Beauty already, it is one of the first brands I collaborated with, they believed in my new born blog and I’ll never thank them enough for that, I actually still collaborate with them with great pleasure! For summer season they sent me two products to protect my skin on vacation.
It’s an an Italian brand with 40 years of experience ; it was founded in castrocaro and they’ve always paid attention to ingredients, using the purest herbs and perfecting the craft of fresh vegetable stem cells extraction, to obtain 100% pure essential oils. All their products are “organic” ecogroup, paraben free, paraffin free, cruelty free, day spa association, efficacy and microbiological certified, because they want to give their customers high quality products and at the same time they want to respect the environment.

world_of_beauty_summer_haul

I use sunblock all year round because sun rays can damage your skin in winter as well, that’s why I’m really happy to try world of beauty Ultra protective anti age facial cream spf 50+; I recommend to always use a SPF 50 on your face, regardless of the season and of your skin tone. Luxurious facial sun cream, very high protection, rich in green tea, botanical extracts and pure soothing minerals; recommended for all skin types. It helps preventing visible signs of aging, sun dark spots and skin dehydration. It’s very concentrate but not heavy, I use a pea size of products for my whole face and it’s more than enough, it’s easy to get absorbed, it doesn’t feel greasy and the smell is amazing, it’s like being on a tropical island!

world_of_beauty_summer_haul

I also received a body oil, the absolute sun vitaminic oil : luxurious tanning oil for all skin types, formulated with natural ingredients that boost melanin synthesis. This is an oil with no SPF, meant to be used when you’re already tanned to prolong your tan as long as possible while moisturizing your skin, at least that’s the way I’ll use it because my skin is very fair.
I’ll leave you the links to world of beauty website and social media, be sure to check them out! Happy holidays!

Ciao fatine,

eye makeup look mauve and purple

Hi fairies,
For this look I went back to my favourite shades, I feel more comfortable wearing cold shades, I think they suit me more! I started by applying a matte mauve eyeshadow in the crease with a fluffy blending brush as my transition color, and I intensified it with a deeper mauve eyeshadow. On my lid I applied a shimmery purple with grey undertone, and in the outer corner I patted a matte black eyeshadow, bringing it slowly in the outer half of my crease. When you work with black I suggest you to add a little bit at a time not to end up with more product than you need. My browbone highlighter was a matte ivory eyeshadow, and I completed the look with a winged liner and mascara! This is a fairly simple look to achieve but it looks stunning, I hope you like it!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

One product review wycon 3 shades ring palette

Hi fairies,
I bought this palette when I placed my first order at wycon, I didn’t know if the quality was good but I fell in love with the blue one and I couldn’t help but buying it!

Let’s see how they’re described:  baked wet and dry eyeshadow. The very fine texture grants an even finish, they’re easy to blend. The three shades can be mixed together for a unique and bright effect, or they you can use each one of them on its own, for a simple yet stunning makeup look. Price 9.90 €. Available in 5 different colors.

wycon_3_shades_palette_review

What I like: they’re extremely pigmented and buttery, almost creamy, all I need to do is to touch them with an eyeshadow brush to pick up enough pigment! There’s no fall out at all, the texture is creamy and they’re very easy to blend. Even the darker shades are easy to blend and they’re buildable. I use them dry because of that, but they can be used wet as well. They’re shimmery but there’s no glitters in them, they’re almost duochrome, really gorgeous! I can do a whole look with the blue one, so I would definitely pick it to go on a trip, it’s compact and small and versatile. They all last for hours without fading nor creasing. They don’t set into fine lines in spite of the shimmery finish.

wycon_3_shades_palette_review

What I don’t like: the palettes are small so it can be difficult to pick each color without mixing them together, and that’s especially true for lighter shades such as white.

My verdict: I definitely recommend them, I purchased two more and I love them all, they’re on sale at 6.90 € right now and they’re definitely worth the money!

wycon_3_shades_palette_review

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Prezzo 9.90 €. Disponibile in 5 tonalità diverse.
