Eye makeup look tomatoes and eggplants

Hi fairies,
Today I’ve used red eyeshadow, which isn’t one of the most loved shades, probably because it’s hard to find a good one and also because it’s not easy to wear it without looking sick. I tried my best to show you a wearable yet dramatic look featuring red, I like how it turned out and I hope you will too!
I started by applying a purple in my crease and outer corner with a blending brush and I built the color up little by little : when working with vibrant shades like this one it’s better to apply a little bit of color at time to avoid getting a dark patch impossible to blend! On my lid I placed a red eyeshadow, I patted it on for the best possible color pay off; I added a lavender eyeshadow around the edges of the purple to blend it out more and create a nice transition to the browbone. I completed the look with eyeliner and mascara, and that was it!

Ciao fatine,

Lip Marks nail art

Hi fairies,
It’s been a while since l wanted to try this cute and colorful nail art, and I think the time has come!
I decided to paint my nails with a gradient that goes from light grey to black, each nail with a different color, and then I added an iridescent glittery polish to give them that extra sparkle they need!
Painting lip marks isn’t difficult at all, I just drew a C shape and on top of that I drew a shape similar to an M; I added some tiny lines to make them more similar to lips, and I placed them randomly all over my nails, and I was basically done! You can add rhinestones, or you can paint lip marks only on an accent finger, or you can add XOXO on your ring finger, it’s up to you and it’s all a matter of personal preference, you can be sure it will look cute regardless!
That’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review real tecniques shading brush

Hi fairies,
I’ve been probably the last one on earth to buy a real tecniques brush I know, but I’m not a brush addict, I’ve got just those I need and I don’t like to stock them up. Eventually though curiosity got the best out of me and I ordered one just to see myself if they were as good as people claimed, and I picked the shading brush because I didn’t own any similar one.
I paid around 8.00 € for it, which is a very affordable price, especially for a good quality product, and I love the metallic purple handle! This brush has got synthetic bristles, densely packed and short, which makes the brush, in my opinion, perfect to pack eyeshadow in the outer corner , and also to defuse it nicely.

To me this is the perfect brush to do that because you won’t end up with too much eyeshadow on your lid, the brush is dense but not too dense and it allows to build the color up and get the intensity you’re looking for if needed. I didn’t have any brush that could do that so I’m very happy with my purchase and I use it very often.
I’ve washed it so many times, with soap and water or with Mac brush cleanser, and it hasn’t lost one bristle so far, nor its shape! It’s good quality and I definitely recommend it!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Per me è consigliatissimo!

Eye makeup look lorna mc nessie Monster High

Hi fairies,
This look has been inspired by one of the new Monster High characters, the daughter of  Loch Ness monster, who went to Monster High school as an exchange student, Lorna Mc Nessie. She’s bubbly, fun and mischievous, she loves taking pics , most of all she loves photobombing friends while they’re taking a pic, and she’s an expert at appearing in the most unexpected manner possible!
For this makeup look I placed tape in the outer corner of my eye to achieve a sharp line, and then I cut my crease with red eyeshadow on a small liner brush, placing the line just above my natural crease. Once I was happy with the shape I went over it a couple of times to get a good color pay off, and I started bringing the color up , blending it out with a fluffy blending brush. I used a beige eyeshadow as my browbone highlighter, and I used it to blend out the edges of the red a bit more as well. On my lid I patted a gorgeous aqua blue pigment with silver and pink iridescences to it, and in the inner corner I placed a shimmery yellow pigment. I added a criss cross pattern on top of the red eyeshadow , that resembles the fabric of her dress, and I used black and gold for the lines. I completed the look with eyeliner and mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

Dots and lines nail art

Hi fairies,
This nail art can be done on both short and long nails, if your nails are long you can do a French manicure and leave the top half naked, if they’re short you’ll adjust the design to your nails like I did! First thing to do is to pick two colors of your choice, one dark and one light to create a nice contrast between the two of them, and then you’ll apply two coats of the light shade on all your nails. You can recreate this pattern on an accent nails if you prefer, or on two nails or on all of them, it’s just a matter of personal preference. Use the dark shade to shape a half circle on one half of your nails and fill it in, and then outline the edges with dots using the lighter shade. Add dark dots on the light half and draw two sideways lines coming from the tip of your nails and stopping just before the two colors meet, and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

One product review petit jardin blackcurrant eye contour cream for men

Hi fairies,
I tested several samples of petit jardin eye contour cream for men, they were part of a starter kit I received last year, here you can get more info about this brand, which is a brand that takes inspiration from nature, from its colors and balance, from its smells and shapes to make every single product.

Let’s see how they describe the product: the perfect product for the delicate eye area: it will help smoothen fine lines, it will minimize puffiness and it will erase any signs of tiredness. Formulated with hyaluronic acid, yacon extract and blackcurrant extract that will help make your skin  firmer and more toned. It’s a lightweight cream with a silky texture. Its formula is made for men who are looking for an effective eye contour cream that is also easy to use. It gets absorbed fast without leaving the skin greasy and without feeling heavy. Price 26.00 €  for 30 ml.

petit jardin blackcurrant eye contour cream for men

What I like : I tested samples, but the full size comes in a glass bottle with a pump, and I like that especially when we’re talking about eye contour creams : it’s hygienic and there’s no product waste. It is , just as described, a lightweight cream and it’s scent free, and it’s very moisturizing! The consistency isn’t thick, it goes on your skin smoothly, but the cream itself it’s really nourishing, I’d say it’s like a concentrate, you need a tiny drop of it for both eyes.  The skin feels replenished and I didn’t feel the need to reapply it during the day, my contour eye area felt smooth and elastic.

What I don’t like : I’m not in my 20’s and I’ve got oily skin with no wrinkles, I don’t need thick products for my face but, of course, I need a good hydrating  and anti ageing eye contour cream because , as I said, I’m not in my twenties anymore, and I need to take care of this delicate area as much as I can. This eye cream is way too rich for my skin, I had to wipe the excess away after patting it on, no matter how tiny the drop was! It could be a great product if your skin is extremely dry and need to be deeply nourished, but I can’t use it on a regular basis. It’s quite expensive, I feel there are other contour eye creams at a lower price that work just as well; this one is made with natural and high quality ingredients, so if you prefer bio products it’s a great cream and it’s worth the price.
petit jardin blackcurrant eye contour cream for men

My verdict: for my skin type and my experience is not the right eye contour cream, I definitely don’t recommend it if you’ve got oily skin like me but, if your skin is dry it is a good product as it’s moisturizing, lightweight and scent free.

Ciao fatine,

petit jardin blackcurrant eye contour cream for men

One product review petit jardin blackcurrant eye contour cream for men

Eye makeup look: Disney Princess Aurora- Sleeping Beauty

Hi fairies,
Today’s makeup has been inspired by Sleeping Beauty’s princess, Aurora , to be more precise by her pink dress, which is very romantic, pink, stunning and princess like! I love Aurora even though she’s not my favorite Disney princess, but I like her innocence , her pure heart and the strength of her feeling for her prince charming, which eventually will win over evil!
For this look I started by applying a fuchsia eyeshadow in the inner and outer corner of my eyes, leaving a gap in the middle to create a sandwich smoky eye, and I also defined the edges in a rounded shape, I didn’t blend the eyeshadow at all because I needed it to be shaped like that to have room in the crease . I applied a baby pink eyeshadow in the  gap in the middle of my lid, and I blended it into the fuchsia to defuse any harsh lines. I chose a cream pigment with multi color glitters in it as highlighter, and then I painted a white line all along the edge of the eyeshadow, in my crease; I thickened it towards the outer corner and I shaped it a bit curvy , just like her dress collar! I completed the look by applying fuchsia and pink shadow, following the same pattern that was on my lid, on my lower lashline, and then I lined my eyes with black eyeliner, and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

Hi fairies,
This nail art is for all cat lovers like me! I’ve seen a pic and I decided to give it a try as I thought it was a super cute nail art! You can choose any background color you like, I picked a mint green, which is one of my favorite color, and then I painted a cat’s body on my ring finger, the head on my middle finger and a ball on my index finger! I added details and I outlined the shapes to give more definition and to make them stand out more, and that was it, I hope you like it!

One product review kiko super color eyeliner

Hi fairies,
It’s not easy to find good low cost colourful eye liners, most of them are not pigmented enough, they don’t apply evenly and color pay off isn’t too good, which is a pity because I love playing with colourful liners, I think it’s a fun and quick way to turn the simplest eye makeup in an unique one!
Kiko has got super color liners in its permanent line and I’ve tried several of them, here’s how they’re described: Coloured Liquid Eyeliner in a water-resistant formula. Its water and polymer based formula creates a film of extra-brilliant no-transfer colour with great coverage. The light and gliding texture dries quickly adhering perfectly to eyelids, without fading or flaking. The innovative, cone-shaped applicator in soft felt makes application very comfortable, simple and perfectly measured, for a line that can go from thin to thick. Its special long-handled design ensures maximum control of application for lines that are always flawless. Exceptional by itself or on top of eyeshadow, eye pencil or classic eyeliner, Super Colour Eyeliner is available in 14 vibrant shades. Price 6.90 £ - 6.90 €.

kiko_super_color_eyeliner_review

Pros: there are 14 shades in different finishes, and the color pay off varies according to that, I’ll go into details in a moment. I like that the packaging shows the product’s color, this way is easier to find the one I want to pick. They got a fine felt tip which makes it very easy to apply it and to trace both a thin or a thick line according to your preferences. Product doesn’t get dry with time, I finished several of them and they were all perfect till the last drop! My favorite are matte ones because the pigmentation is better, colors are even and full after one layer, they’re not sketchy, they’re not patchy, they glide on beautifully, they dry fast and they stay in place all day without smudging, they are waterproof! My favorite one is 107, a vibrant royal blue that goes well with so many eye makeup looks! They’re not sheer and I can use them on dark eyeshadows such as greys, they’re amazing!

Cons: pearly ones aren’t as good as matte ones to be honest. They’re sheer and more liquid, which means they need several layers to show up and even then they’re still on the sheer side. Lighter shades are the worst, the pearly white is basically a clear base with glitters and I like to use it as an inner corner highlighter or on top of black eyeliner but not on its own. If I have to give you a tip I would definitely suggest you to pair them with black liner to add some sparkle to it or to use it as highlighter.

My verdict: I definitely recommend matte ones as some of the best low cost colourful liners ever, while I don’t think pearly ones are just as good but they can still be used and look nice.

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
