Cute Panda nail art

Hi fairies,
Panda nail arts are very cute and easy to do and there are different versions to try, so today I decided to paint a cute panda on my nails and I hope you like it! I chose a forest green nail polish as a background, but you can choose any colours you like. On my middle finger I paint his face by shaping a white half circle and then, with a dotting tool, I drew his ears, eyes and nose in black. On my ring finger I painted his back: I started with a white half circle just like I did on my middle finger, I also added black ears, but I traced a black line in the middle of the shape and I tried to give it a curved shape in the middle. I completed my drawing by adding a black dot for his tail, and that was it, isn’t he cute?!

Ciao fatine,

One product review I heart makeup unicorns highlighter

Hi fairies,
Do you remember the hype when the first rainbow highlighter came out? I do, it was all over Instagram and only an indie brand sold it and it was always sold out! I didn’t even think of buying it because it was too expensive and shipping costs from the United States were too high in my opinion, I have so many highlighters I sure didn’t need that one and, most of all, I didn’t need to spend almost 50 euros to get it.
I recently spotted this super cute rainbow highlighter on maquillalia, is heart shaped and it’s from I heart makeup, it’s totally inexpensive and I decided it was time to give in and try a rainbow highlighter!

Let’s see how it’s described: It is the highlighter you have all been waiting for - get the magical Unicorn glow with this rainbow highlighter that blends perfectly and is as buildable as you want it to be. Get the perfect colourful iridescent rainbow glow.Made by real unicorns.

What I like : the packaging is adorable, I can’t deny it, it’s super cute with the holo print and it’s heart shaped! The highlighter is divided in six colourful stripes that can be used on their own or mixed together so you’ve basically got seven highlighters in one! As you can see from swatches colors look different from one another, not just in the pan but on my skin as well and I didn’t expect them to be so vibrant. It’s a baked highlighter, the pigmentation is good and the texture is silky, there’s no fall out at all. The finish is glowy and shimmery and there are micro glitters in it but they’re not too visible. You can build the intensity up by layering it or by applying it with different kind of brushes, the result changes according to the brush used.  It’s easy to blend, it won’t make any patches or stripes. It’s long lasting, it lasts all day on my skin. For the price point the quality is really good and let’s not forget it’s also a cold tone highlighter, when you mix all colors together, which is not easy to find.

What I don’t like: stripes are quite thin so you need a small brush if you want to use colors individually. I’ve noticed glitters tend to go on my cheek bones after wearing it for few hours, which is not a flattering look.

My verdict: I really like it, I recommend it if you love super glowy and shiny highlighters and you own many already but you still want to try rainbow one without spending a fortune, it’s cheap and the quality is good! If you love subtle highlighters it might be too strong for you.

Ciao fatine,

Benefit Cosmetics tops and flops

Hi fairies,
this post is inspired by Aghy176 videos , she did a brands top and flop series I really enjoyed, here’s her youtube channel, and I decided to follow her footsteps and post my personal top and flop series! I hope you’ll like it, I think it’s a good way to get to know a brand a bit more in depth and it’s also a real eye opener because it shows there’s good and bad in any single brand, even in our favorite one!
I’m starting the series with Benefit, a brand many people love and many hate, because I’ve tried quite a of their products thanks to their kits, and I also repurchased some of them in full size because I love them!

Not all of them were a hit, let’s actually start by those I didn’t like ,I picked four flops and four tops:

FLOPS

4.girls meet pearls : it’s a cream highlighter that retails at about 30.00 € and, in my opinion, the price is too high for the performance. I’m really pale and this highlighter barely shows on myself, it’s not pigmented enough or intense enough for my taste and it will probably vanish on darker skin tones. I would never spend 30 € for such a subtle highlighter, I found my minisize in a kit and I haven’t finished it all yet.

3. some kind a gorgeous: in the kit I’ve just mentioned there was a mini size of this foundation , a cream to powder formula that claims to even out your complexion without looking cakey. The color was too dark for me so I couldn’t use it but, apart from that, the consistency is very greasy, oily, and I can’t say it’s a cream to powder foundation as it just doesn’t turn to powder once applied , at least not on my skin. It might work on dry skin but I would stay away from it if your skin is oily.

2. they’re real! Mascara : it’s not a total flop because it lengthens and volumizes a bit but not as much as it should, or as much as I expected it to. It’s an average mascara in my opinion and , for the price point, it’s not worth buying it, at least not with my kind of lashes, which aren’t very long and thick. I don’t like the wand applicator, it easily gets into my eyes and that’s something that rarely happens to me so it’s not because I’m clumsy, it’s definitely because of its shape.

1. benetint: l know it’s loved by many but I’m not one of them, I don’t like it at all! It’s an overrated and over priced product in my opinion, it’s poorly pigmented, it’s very runny and you have to blend it in fast else it’s going to bleed all over your face;you can achieve the same result with a cheaper cream or powder blush, actually you can achieve a better result with cheaper products. Have you tried it? Do you like it? Let me know, I’m really curious about it!

TOPS

4. the porefessional license to blot : having oily skin means I’m always looking for mattifying primers and products so obviously I had to try this stick! It’s a stick you apply before your foundation or on top of it to get rid of any shine, but I only use it as a primer because it seems to me it might take away foundation for a patchy look, and that’s not what I want! It works really well as a primer for me, it immediately mattyfies and my makeup lasts longer when I wear it . it’s a silicone based stick and you can definitely feel it, but it’s not an issue for me , it’s lightweight so once it’s on you don’t feel it anymore.

3. stay don’t stray :  I first found a minisize in the infamous kit I’ve mentioned so many times in this post, and I’ve repurchased it at least twice since then! I love it as eye primer because it’s got the right consistency , not too thick nor too thin, the sponge applicator makes the application easy and clean, it evens out any redness due to its light cream color, it makes my eye makeup last all day! Definitely a must have for me!

2. boi-ing concealer: it’s the only cream concealer out of all those I’ve tried so far that doesn’t crease in my under eye area, therefore is a winner for me! The consistency is thin and light but the coverage is great, it’s easy to blend and to work with, it doesn’t look cakey, it lasts all day, it’s a great product!

1. the porefessional face primer : I love this face primer and I’ve repurchased it many times, I’ve tried others but this one is still my favorite! It’s a silicone based primer that blurs out pores and fine lines for a flawless look, it also keeps shine at bay for several hours so basically it’s got everything I need in a primer! Here you can read my full review if you’re interested. I know many people don’t like it because of the silicone finish, but I actually don’t mind!

What are your benefit tops and flops? There are several products I have yet to try out of this brand, such as the hello flawless foundation and face powder, the new eyebrow products and the stay flawless face primer, I can’t say I know Benefit very well but I’ve tried quite a few of their products!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

2. they’re real!

L’avete provato? Vi piace? Fatemi sapere, sono curiosa!

TOPS

Per me è sicuramente un must have!

eye makeup look orange and purple

Hi fairies,
I love purple so much because it complements my skin tone really well, so today I went for soft purple smoky eye, not too dramatic and really wearable.
I started by applying a matte mauve eyeshadow in my crease and I blended it very well to create a shadow and a base for other eyeshadows; in the outer part of my lid I placed a matte purple eyeshadow and l defused the edges, and I intensified by adding a tiny bit of black. In the middle of my lid I applied a shimmery purple eyeshadow with blue glitters in it, and in the inner corner I applied a light shimmery pink. I added a chocolate brown eyeshadow in the crease just to create a contrast between warm and cold tones, and I completed the look with eyeliner and mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review :maybelline eye studio master precise ink pen liner

Hi fairies,
Today I’m giving you my opinion on a felt tip liner I bought few months ago and I’ve been using ever since, the Maybelline eye studio master precise ink pen liner. I decided to buy when I swatched it at the shop, it impressed me for its pigmentation and definition I seem to be able to achieve, it wasn’t even very expensive so I didn’t think twice and I purchased it!

Let’s see how it’s described: Exclusive felt tip. Never dries. Never drips. Master the redefined line. The next generation of liquid liner is here. Master Precise Ink Pen Liner's exclusive, ultra-thin 0.4mm brush tip supplies continuous flow for smooth, even perfect lines. No drying or skipping. No mess or excess. Ink technology keeps pigments super-saturated. Ophthalmologist tested. Safe for sensitive eyes. Contact lens safe. Price 7.99 $ - 11.00 €

What I like: my first impression was right, it is a very pigmented eye liner that allows you to draw precision lines, from very thin to very thick ones; the color is an intense black that doesn’t need two coats to look even, it is even from the first coat and it applies easily and smoothly. I’m not a fan of felt tip liners, I prefer liquid ones, but this one is quite good  and I think it’s thanks to the very fine tip it comes with . it dries pretty fast , and once it’s set it will last all day without smudging or fading, it stays in place and you won’t have to worry about looking like a sad panda! If you’ve got oily lids you should try this eyeliner out, I think it could be a good one for you because it’s absolutely smudge proof even though it’s not described as waterproof.

photo from www.walmart.com

What I don’t like : I’ve noticed it might flake a bit when you apply more than two or three coats, it’s like it gets dry and it tends to crack, but it will happen only if you heavily layer it and you actually don’t need to because it is pigmented and really black. It’s not waterproof but it performs well when weather is humid and muggy, even though I wouldn’t wear to go to the swimming pool!

My verdict: it is a good felt tip liner with a great quality price ratio, it’s helpful if you’re not a pro, it’s not as intimidating as liquid liners, it’s really black, easy to use and versatile, long lasting and easy to apply, all in all I think you should definitely check it out!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
Vediamo come viene descritto: esclusiva punta in feltro. Prezzo 7.99 $ -11.00 €
photo from www.walmart.com

It’s a dotted world nail art

Hi fairies,
this nail art is very simple, all you need is a toothpick , and you can customize it in so many different ways! Mine is just one of the many possibilities you have , you can add dots in any patterns of your choice, you can dot just an accent nail, you can dot two nails or all of them, and  color combos are endless!
I picked a dark nail polish for my background to make pastel dots stand out, and once it was dry I used a dotting tool to draw white dots of different sizes all over my nails. I chose a wavy pattern but you can go for a geometric one, which would look just as great! You can use pastel nail polishes to create a gradient and you would be done after this step but, if you use white acrylic paint or nail polish, the next step is to dilute two or three acrylic paint colors with a drop of water to get a sheer paint, and then to just brush it all over your nails , and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Italian version:

ciao fatine,

Haul Maquillalia: nyx galore!

Hi fairies,
I’ve been loving the brand Nyx lately, I’ve been trying so many products and I think quality price ratio is really good! They also have so many different products and they come out with new ones often, they’re a brand that has been growing and it will be go on growing in my opinion, because they are innovative and original! This haul is basically all Nyx, you can find it at www.maquillalia.com , which is where I usually order from.

Let’s see what I bought, first thing is a jumbo eye pencil nr 604 in milk back up: the one I’m using is almost finished so I bought another one as it’s the best white creamy base ever! Price 5.90 €

Nyx has got a wide range of colorful eyeliners, so I picked two: one is a white liner, very rare to find ( I got Lime Crime lunar sea but there isn’t much product left ) and a nude one, a very interesting shade I’ve never seen so far. They’ve got a felt tip applicator with a thin tip that should make the application very easy.

If lip tints feel too dry on your lips you should try high voltage lipsticks: this is the second one I buy, they are creamy lipsticks, very pigmented and with a good lasting power. They’re not comparable to lip tints , they need to be reapplied after a meal, but they’re very comfortable and they don’t smudge. This time I went for a nice nude, perfect with basically any eye makeup! Price 6.90 €.

The prismatic eyeshadow in mermaid is my new obsession! It’s so buttery it almost feels like a cream eyeshadow, there’s no fall out of any sorts and it’s extremely pigmented! It’s definitely worth more than 5.90 €, the quality is really high and the color is so me, but there are warm shades as well.

I want to try their eyeshadow base, this one is waterproof and I hope it’s going to work great.have you tried it? I haven’t looked for any reviews before buying it, I just put it in my cart!

I’ve got oily skin so I’m always willing to try mattifying face primers, and I’ve heard the shine killer is really good so I decided to buy it.

Another product I’ve heard good things about is the matte finish setting spray, which was always out of stock on maquillalia! As soon as I found it was available I bought it! Setting sprays make a huge difference, as far as I’m concerned, they make  my makeup last way longer without looking cakey . I  have never used a matte fixer, so I can’t even imagine the wonders of this product!

I’m a glitter junkie and I couldn’t resist these two gorgeous glitters: they are creamy , hopefully there won’t be any need to use a base. one is iridescent and one is fucsia and I can’t wait to use them! They’re from wet n wild.

Nyx has got unique colorful mascaras in stock, I want them all but I first purchased this purple one to see if I like it, and I’ll buy more shades if it’s a good mascara. The color seems amazing, and again it’s not easy to find a lilac mascara that looks good and it’s pigmented.

I love nyx matte soft lip creams because they’re comfortable, they don’t feel dry, they don’t set into fine lines and they’re very long lasting, definitely in my lip tints top 5 for quality , price, color range and texture! I picked two nudes but there are dark shades if you’re into vampy lips.

That’s it for now, see you at my next haul!

Italian version:

ciao fatine,
