Dermaroller: does it really work? funziona davvero?

Hi fairies,
the product I’m going to talk about today is quite popular but I’ve started using it several months ago thanks to my prince, who had been using it for years and he talked me into trying it out.
I’m sure most of you have seen photos of a dermaroller but maybe you don’t know exactly what it is and what is for: it’s basically a roller with a head full of micro needles of several dimensions according to the area you are going to treat, that stimulates collagen growth. It’s that simple! Instead of a permanent treatment many people have turned to derma roller as it’s effective but it gives you the freedom of deciding when and for how long to use it. Fillers , which are very popular as well, aren’t permanent either, they last from 6 months to one year according to age and skin reaction, which is different for everyone, but dermaroller is way less expensive and therefore more affordable, it’s less painful and results are visible , that’s why it’s getting more and more popular!
It’s used to reduce the appearance of fine lines because it stimulates tissue’s regeneration and, when used on a regular basis it provides long lasting results unlike fillers, because with dermaroller it’s all about collagen growth, it’s our own body that produces it, it’s not like injecting a filler that will eventually get absorbed!

Where to find it? You can find it on Amazon or ebay and it’s very inexpensive, just google it and you’ll see. They can have a different number of needles, they go from 180 to 1000 and it could be a little confusing to choose the right one at first: I suggest to go for a middle size like 540 , it’s the best choice. Another thing to check is the size of needles, it’s very important to choose the right one because the wrong one could irritate our skin or it could be totally ineffective . sizes go from 0.25 to 3.00 mm in length, and you need at least a length of 0.50 to actually stimulate collagen growth, which is the right size for sensitive areas like your face; if you need a derma roller for your body you can go for a length of 1.00 mm or more.

How to use it? It’s very simple and fast, all you have to do is to gently roll it on the desired areas not more than 15 times. Clean your skin before using it and moisturize it soon after. I use it three times a week, I wouldn’t suggest using it every day as it could be too aggressive. I clean it with alcohol after each use so it’s sanitized and safe, it’s very important to do that as needles create micro puntures on your skin and you can get infection if it’s not sanitized. If you’re very sensitive to pain you could use a numbing cream but it’s not painful at all in my opinion. Afterwards my skin looks a bit red so I prefer using it at night to give my skin time to get back to normal. You shouldn’t expose your skin to sunlight soon after using it, and you shouldn’t roll it on wounds or breakouts or sunburns.
What it does? As I said it treats fine lines minimizing their appearance and it minimizes pores as well, results aren’t immediate but you’ll start seeing them after one month more or less. It can be used in the under eye area but you have to be very gentle as the skin is thin and sensitive around our eyes.
It can be used on stretch marks and scars on your body and they’ll get way more visible with time.
My experience so far is positive, I’ve been using it on my face just and I’ve noticed pores are smaller, my skin looks firmer and smooth and overall younger, I’m very happy with it!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Come usarlo?
