One product review lime crime eye shadow brightener primer

Hi fairies,
When Lime Crime launched a new eye primer , around last Christmas, I immediately bought it because I really like their eye shadow helper and I had great expectations on the new one as well! I’ve been using it for months, alternating it with Lime Crime eyeshadow helper, Benefit stay don’t stray! And Urban Decay primer potion, and I think I’m ready to give you my opinion about it!

Let’s see how it’s described: Revolutionary white primer from Lime Crime designed to make eyeshadow go on true to color. Think of it as your ‘blank canvas’! Based on the acclaimed eye shadow helper formula, eye shadow brightener keeps eye makeup in place and crease-free for up to 24 hours. Apply as you would a regular primer. Apply eyeshadow immediately. Enjoy clean, vibrant color that never fades! Price 13.50 £ - 17.00 € for 10 gr – 0.35 oz.

What I like : would I come out as vain if I mention the packaging? I actually have to, it’s extremely cute but it’s not the reason why I bought the product, I did because I wanted to try it and I already love the eye shadow helper of the same brand ; it looks exactly like that one apart from the color, and I have to say I like the consistency that isn’t too liquid nor too thick , to me it’s perfect and it’s not oily like too faced shadow insurance, so it will work better for oily lids in my opinion. It is white, basically you need a small amount of product and you will have to pat it on your lids to create a thin layer, and then you’ll apply your eyeshadows on top of it. It makes any colors stand out and it makes them vibrant and true to themselves, it works just like Nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk but the consistency isn’t waxy like that one; it makes eyeshadows last longer, it prevents them from creasing and it helps blending them out, all in all I love it as much as their eyeshadow helper , maybe a bit more because it does make any colors more vibrant ! it’s going to last for a long time , you need the tiniest amount of product, in the long run isn’t expensive at all!

What I don’t like: when I said you need the tiniest amount of it I meant it, and it’s because it will crease if you apply a thick layer of it, and your eyeshadow will crease as well! We don’t want that to happen, actually we use a primer to prevent creasing, that’s why I recommend you to be careful and to pat it on your lid very well, that’s the key for an even application and the best result! It says to apply eyeshadow immediately afterwards, and the reason why you should follow their suggestion is it gets dry fast , and once it’s dry eyeshadows won’t stick to it as they should, so for example you can’t put eye primer on and then answer your phone, because it will dry in the meantime!

My verdict : it’s a good primer , it does what it says, it works well with pigments, it makes colors pop, it makes eyeshadows last longer, they won’t crease, it’s got a good quality price ratio and it’s definitely a favourite of mine! If you use neutral shades though, you could buy original one as you don’t need a white base, it’s a matter of what kind of result you want to achieve. They’re both good products , I’m going to repurchase them!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
