Paciugopedia 3 #7

Hi fairies,
This is the seventh Paciugopedia’s episode, if you haven’t joined us yet I’ll leave you the link to Svampi’s blog, who created Paciugopedia, where you can find all the info you need!
This makeup is undoubtedly warm , therefore is not right up my alley because, as you might know by now, I prefer warm tones , but I gave it a try nonetheless, because sometimes it’s nice to step out of our comfort zone, isn’t it? I actually tried the Sleek sunset palette for the first time, and I really like it! It’s my first Sleek palette and I’m impressed by the eyeshadows quality, they’re soft, buttery, there’s no fall out, they’re super pigmented and blendable, definitely comparable to more expensive products!

As for the look, mine turned out a bit more burgundy than the original, but I like it, it’s basically a classic smoky eye : I first applied a burnt orange shade in my crease and I defused the color very well,as this was my transition color, and then I applied a burgundy eyeshadow with a metallic finish all over my lid, blending the edges where it met the crease color. I added a touch of brown in the outer corner to give more depth to the look, and I brought it up in the outer half of my crease. I completed the look with a forest green eyeliner and mascara, I used kiko power pop green mascara , which I love, on the bottom lashes, and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

march most played

Hi fairies,
this month has been really busy but I wanted to post my most played and, luckily, I managed to do so! Here’s the link to GoldenVi0let’s blog, where you can find all the info to join the most played team if you haven’t already!

march_most_played
Even though I’ve been busy and I didn’t have time to do creative makeup, I’ve reached for two palettes quite a lot: the first one is a new one , it’s Lime Crime Venus 2 palette and I really love it! I’ll write an  in depth review soon, but I can tell you I love the periwinkle eyeshadow, it’s a unique shade, very pigmented, totally matte, not powdery, in one word it’s gorgeous! Jam and mustard are two other gorgeous colors I’ve been using in my crease almost every day, they add the right amount of warmth to any kind of looks, they’re easy to blend and they’re buildable. This palette is a must have for me, money well spent I would say!

march_most_played

The other palette is an old one and it’s probably my favorite one: I’m talking about the urban decay electric palette, here you can read my review, which is definitely unique and not an everyday palette, but as you can see I’ve almost hit pan on the majority of the shades, because I use them so often! If you love neutrals this is not the palette for you, but if you love bright colors and you like to add a pop of color to your makeup you should think of buying it: the quality is high, they are pressed pigments with an amazing color pay off and almost no fall out, they can be used wet and dry and they’re very versatile.
march_most_played

I’ve recently talked about the Estee Lauder double wear foundation, which is the foundation I’ve been using recently: I’m not in love with it but it’s a good product, maybe a bit overrated but definitely mattifying and a high coverage one. If you want to know all its pros and cons you can read my full review here.
march_most_played

The most used lipsticks of the month are Lime Crime velvetines in Faded, my new obsession: it’s the perfect mauve shade that matches a lot of eye makeups, the texture is riformulated compared to old velvetines in my opinion, it’s thinner, very comfortable, not sticky and not drying and the lasting power is remarkable!
march_most_played

The other one is L.A.girl matte pigment gloss in timeless, a dark fuchsia with blue undertones that looks quite bright on my skin tone, it’s a beautiful color and I find the product quite comfortable and long lasting, I like how it performs and I want to buy other shades soon!
That’s it for this month, see you next month with more most played!

Italian version:

ciao fatine,

march_most_played

march_most_played

eye makeup look A bug's life

Hi fairies,
This look has been inspired by the movie A bug’s life, that made me think of bugs and their amazing colors and, even though I don’t like bugs much(apart from cartoon ones), I love their duochrome shades ! I went for a sandwich smoky eye, which basically is a smoky eye where the darkest color is placed in the inner and outer corner, and a lighter color is placed in the middle of your lid. I used a matte black eyeshadow in my outer and inner corner and I added it a bit a time because it was very pigmented and I didn’t want to get a huge black stain on my eyelid! I kept adding and blending, trying to keep the color just above my crease , and once the edges were defused I placed a shimmery teal pigment in the middle, blending it where it met the black. With a fluffy brush I went in my crease with a hazelnut eyeshadow to create a nice gradient and defuse the black edges even more, and I completed the look with a thin eyeliner wing and mascara, and that was it , I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review : Kiko smart lipstick nr 914

Hi fairies,
Today I’m going to talk to you about my first Kiko smart lipstick ever, number 914! I own many velvet mat lipsticks and I love unlimited stylos a lot, I tend to gravitate toward them more than smart ones because I thought they weren’t that great, so I rather pay a bit more to get a good lipstick than get one I’m not going to use! I’ve heard lots of good things about them though, especially about this shade, that’s why I decided to purchase it!

kiko_smart_lipstick_914_review

Let’s see how they’re described:  Rich, nourishing lipstick. Full colour, total comfort. Dense, nourishing texture with an ultra-silky and immediate smooth-gliding quality. The extreme sensoriality and soft consistency enhance the application experience and the resulting feeling of comfort. Thanks to the large drop-shaped lipstick tip, the colour is easy to apply and immediately adheres to the lips, defining them with precision. The adaptable intensity of the colour allows for a careful control of the finish and an immediately intense, long-lasting coverage. The combination of cutting-edge ingredients in the formula makes the texture comfortable, velvety and emollient. The extremely radiant polymers guarantee a pure, radiant effect, while the delicate vanilla fragrance makes it pleasant to use. The design is simple and elegant in terms of colours and shapes. The ergonomic shape of the lid, with an upper hollow, facilitates pack closure.  Available in 24 shades, from the most natural and delicate to the brightest and most intense, with 3 different finishes: full, satin and pearl. Number 914 is called Amaranth. Price 3.90 £ - 3.90 € for 3.5 g/ 0.12 oz.

What I like : many people claim it is a close dupe to Mac rebel. I haven’t got rebel so I can’t give you my opinion on that, however I can say I really like the color pay off, the color is full, rich and pigmented and it goes on smoothly ; the consistency is creamy but it’s not too creamy, which means it’s easy to apply but it doesn’t smudge . I always contour my lips with a lip pencil, and with this kind of lipstick I would say it’s better to , because it could bleed a bit during the day. It doesn’t apply patchy or uneven, it doesn’t feel dry on the lips, it doesn’t fade away uneven either, all in all it’s a great lipstick considering the low price!

kiko_smart_lipstick_914_review

What I don’t like: it’s not the most longlasting lipstick , it starts fading away after two- three hours, you definitely have to reapply it after a meal ; it transfers on glasses when you drink, so basically you should keep it in your handbag for touchups during the day.  It doesn’t set on the lips, it stays creamy and , while it’s good because it’s got a shiny finish that plump your lips up, on the other hand it’s not that good because if you touch your lips by mistake it will smear and you’ll get it on your face.
My verdict: it’s definitely worth buying it if you like experimenting with colors but you don’t want to spend a fortune: the shade range is wide and it’s so cheap it’s impossible to resist! It’s a good everyday lipstick, not very longlasting but I feel we couldn’t ask for more to such a low cost lipstick!

 Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Vediamo come viene descritto: Rossetto ricco e nutriente. Colore pieno e comfort assoluto.

eye makeup look teal and purple love

Hi fairies,
Who said we can’t wear dark colors in spring? I don’t follow any rules, when I feel like wearing a dark smoky eye I go ahead , no matter what season we’re in!
Today I was craving for dark colors, and that’s the look I came up with: I applied a teal eyeshadow all over my lid, stopping below my natural crease and blending the edges with a blending brush; I added a bit of a matte black eyeshadow in the outer and inner corner of my eye and I blended where the two colors meet to get a nice gradient ; in my crease I placed a very dark, grape purple , and I blended it as I go, adding a bit more when needed till I got the color pay off I was looking for, and as you can see I wanted the purple to be really bold, the star of this look! All around the edges I smudged a caramel eyeshadow just to get a nice gradient, and for my browbone highlighter I chose a shimmery vanilla pigment. I smoked out the lower lashline with the same purple I placed in my crease, and I added a shimmery white with pink duochrome in my inner corner to open up the eye, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

hippo nail art

Hi fairies,
as you all know by now I love food and animal themed nail art, I have so much fun at creating them and they never fail to put a smile on my face, so today I picked one of the funniest and cutest animals ever, a hippo, and I made him the star of my nail art!
first thing I did was choosing a background color, which was a lime green, and then I started painting my hippo, called Ciro, with grey nail polish and a dotting tool, but you can use a toothpick or a fine nail art brush, they will all work just as well; I shaped his head and I added ears, and then I outlined the shape with black. I added nostrils, eyes and tooth, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,
