February most played

Hi fairies,
it’s the end of the month and you know what it means, it means it’s most played time! Before getting started I’ll leave you the link to GoldenVi0let’s blog, where you can find all the info to join us if you haven’t already!

february_most_played

This month I’ve used a very popular and loved  foundation , the Estee Lauder double wear, and I’m afraid I don’t go with the flow this time: it’s a good foundation but I don’t love it and I don’t think I’ll repurchase it, I’d rather go for my beloved mac studio fix fluid just to mention one. First of all the shade is a bit too dark for my complexion, but I can make it work anyway even though I’d love a lighter shade; it’s mattifying but not as much as the Studio fix or even as the Kiko mat velvet mousse foundation, after 5-6 hours a little bit of shine starts to show up on my T zone, so I’m not impressed with this foundation . it’s very expensive and I expect a great result when I pay so much for a product. I’ll write a full review soon.
february_most_played

My most played lipsticks of the month are Nyx high voltage in playdate, a definitely unique grey purple shade that looks good on my lips, it’s very creamy, easy to apply, comfortable but it’s not extremely longlasting due to its texture. I’ll write a full review on these lipsticks soon, I’m working on it. The other one is from L.A.girl, a brand I’ve only recently tried, it’s called hush and it’s a pink nude with a matte finish. It’s a low cost lipstick and it performs really well in my opinion, it lasts all day, it doesn’t dry my lips, it doesn’t set into fine lines, it doesn’t bleed and it doesn’t smudge.

february_most_played

I’m loving this L’Oreal hair oil, it’s amazing! It’s a dry oil so it doesn’t feel heavy and it doesn’t leave my hair greasy at all, but it’s very moisturizing and it helps define my curls, I’ll definitely repurchase it!
february_most_played

Another product I’ve tried for the first time and loved is the kiko cleansing eyes and lips makeup remover: I had always used a regular makeup remover for my eyes, I’ve never tried a biphasic one because I didn’t think I need it, but I was totally wrong! It’s so much easier to remove makeup with this cleanser, I don’t have to rub , I just press a cotton pad on my eye , wait few seconds and all my makeup is gone! No irritation, no more dark smudges around my eyes when I wake up,  it’s awesome and I’ve already repurchased it!

What are your most played of the month? Let me know!

Italian version:

ciao fatine,

UnboxingTokyo treat box: japanese candy galore !

Hi fairies,
I love candies of all kind and I love trying new flavors, even the craziest and weirdest ones! You can imagine how happy I’ve been to receive my tokyo treat box , to me it’s heaven and it’s super fun! I had never tried japanese candies before but I know there are some interesting ones, so I was excited to open my box!
tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

Tokyo treat is an eshop where you can find the coolest and newest japanese candies, shipping is free worldwide , the delivery is fast and the box won’t disappoint you! They offer you a monthly box, the subscription is 14.99 $ per month for the small box with 5 to 7 candies inside, 24.99 $ for the regular box with 8 to 12 full sized candies and a DIY pack, and 34.99 $ for the deluxe box, which is the one they sent me,with two pounds of snacks inside, 13 to 17 pieces, a DIY kit and a refreshing drink!
Isn’t it awesome?! It’s super fun to explore new flavors and find out about a different culture: food , in my opinion, tells us a lot about culture and traditions, I always go at grocery stores when I’m abroad because I want to know what they eat in each country!

tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

this year tokyo treat has restyled their boxes, the idea behind the new design is to represent japanese pop culture and snacks with bright colors! In the box there’s a booklet that gives info on each snack and on mini contests you can enter to win amazing prices!

Let’s talk about the snacks I’ve already tried, I first opened the tyrant habanero who came back! They are crunchy habanero rings that promise to be very hot , so hot you might need a glass of water! I was scared they were too hot, but I actually liked them a lot: they are hot and stingy, but not too much. The flavor is interesting,I could definitely feel some spices along with pepper.

tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

The yokai watch character soft serve ice cream are the most unique out of those I’ve tried! They’re inspired by a tv show character and they are covered in a sort of vanilla ice cream flavored powder that creates a nice contrast with the slightly salty taste of the snack. I’ve never tasted anything like that and I love it! They’re not for traditional taste lovers, they’re for adventurous people!

tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

Another yokai inspired snack is the yokai watch fortune seal namaste curry : in japan it’s tradition to buy a special paper fortune to predict what new year may bring and receive a fortune blessing at a shrine. These fortunes have been attached to savory curry snacks, they got a strong flavor and a tangy taste to them, they’re quite unique and I like them!
tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

I haven’t tried the oekaki kyanland candy but I will soon, it’s a DIY and makine them will be so much fun!
I’ve also tried pokemon ramune 5 pack, each pack comes in a different flavor, one was grape, another one was soda, another one was cola, they’re nice candies to eat during the day, I keep them on my desk and I reach for them every now and then!

tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

All in all I’m really happy with tokyo treat box, I recommend it to anyone who loves experiencing new tastes and new cultures, check their page out and I’m sure you won’t be able to resist their snacks!

ciao fatine,

tokyo_treat_japanese_snacks

february empties aka all good things come to an end

Hi fairies,
just like every end of the month it’s time to open my empties box and see what’s inside!
As you can see it’s quite full, it’s been like that for the last few months and I’m really happy about because I’ve got a lot of products and I need to use some of them before buying new ones.

february_empties

First product is a The body shop body butter, you usually see one of them in my empties box because I love them so much, both for their fragrances and for the quality! This one is the chocomania one, the smell is of dark chocolate, not too sweet , it’s really nice!

february_empties

Another staple of mine is Kiko anti age hand cream, a product I love because it’s not greasy and I can use it during the day , while working on my computer without leaving fingermarks all over my keyboard! It might not be the right cream for very dry skin and for extremely cold weather, but it’s good if you just want to keep your hands hydrated on a daily basis and you need a cream you can keep in your beauty bag.
february_empties

I’ve finished the benefit they’re real mascara mini size, and I won’t repurchase it: it’s an average mascara , at least on my lashes, it gives a bit of volume and lenght but there are better products at a lower price. It’s also difficult to remove, only a biphasic make up remover will do the job.

february_empties

Another benefit product that was in the same kit is some kind a gorgeous in the shade medium, definitely too dark for me, that’s why I couldn’t use it and I’m now getting rid of it. I still don’t get if it’s a foundation or a concealer, the consistency is creamy and it looks quite greasy.

You can see two pencil stubs, one is kiko kajal kohl liner 101 in white, the color I use the most in my waterline, and the other one is a really old lip pencil, it’s at least 6 years old! It’s a the body shop lip pencil in a nice neutral shade that matches with so many lipsticks! I can’t sharpen it anymore, it’s too short, it’s time to get rid of it but it did its job , it wasn’t too soft nor too dry, definitely a good lip pencil!

february_empties

I use a sunblock everyday as a base for my makeup, this one is Kiko sunscreen cream SPF 50 and the line isn’t available anymore unfortunately, but I stocked them up and I’ve got quite few of them. I hope Kiko will come out with another sunscreen line because this one’s good, I love them because they get absorbed fast , they don’t feel greasy and they’re light.

My soap bar of the month is Nesti Dante natural soap with winter daphne, white lotus and echinacea: although I love the quality because it’s very delicate, not drying and moisturizing, the smell of this soap bar is nothing special, it’s basically the classic soap bar scent, I definitely prefer other scents of the same line.

You’re probably tired of seeing Kiko cleansing scrub among my empties, but I can’t help it, it’s my favorite everyday scrub and it’s part of my daily routine: here you can read my full review, if you’ve got combo to oily skin you’re going to love it as it exfoliates and cleanse deeply without being too aggressive.

february_empties

As always there’s my Lycia anti odorant, the best anti odorant on the market in my opinion, the only one that never let me down even when it’s super hot !

I’ve tried Kiko cleansing eyes and lips makeup remover for the first time and I’ve fallen in love with it, I’ve already repurchased it! It’s my first time using a biphasic makeup remover and I wonder why I waited so long, the difference is striking! It removes my makeup effortlessly, I just have to gently press a cotton pad on my eye, wait few seconds and that’s it, it gets rid of all my makeup! No more rubbing, no more makeup residues, it’s awesome!

february_empties

I’m throwing away the Coastal scents eclipse palette because there are only two pans left and they’re actually too dark for me to use, they don’t work as contour either, so I decided to get rid of it. I used them all, I like these kind of palettes because you can mix and match and create the perfect shade for your skin tone, concealers are easy to blend, they stay in place all day and they don’t crease!

february_empties

Last but not least, I’m proud to announce I finish the oldest makeup product in my collection! This kiko highlighter is at least 7 years old, it’s called 02 rose gold all over and I don’t remember when it came out, it was a christmas limited edition for sure but I can’t tell which one, if any of you remembers please let me know in the comments! I love it by the way, it’s a pink highlighter with gold glitters in it, it’s very glittery , definitely not subtle but I used it everyday and it looked great, I’m a bit sad it’s all gone! It was huge, really huge,18 g as you can see, and as it was quite old I wanted to use it because I was afraid it could have gone bad.

february_empties

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more empties!

Italian version:

ciao fatine,

february_empties

Era enorme, 18 grammi di prodotto come vedete, e ho voluto finirlo perché era vecchio e avevo paura potesse andare a male.
february_empties

february_empties
