November most played

Hi fairies,
It’s most played time, one of my favorite time of the month because I can talk about new products and give you my first impression, or I can talk about some old products you probably have as well, maybe hidden at the bottom of one of your drawers, and after reading about it you might go and get it and give it a second chance! Before getting started I’ll leave you the link to GoldenVi0let’sblog, the creator of most played tag, where you can find all the info to join us if you haven’t already!

First product I want to mention is Kiko universal fit Hydrating foundation: I bought it on sale at 3.90 € out of curiosity but without having any expectations, to be honest I was sure it wasn’t a good foundation, but it was so cheap I went ahead anyway. My holy grail foundation is mac studio fix fluid , but I was looking for an “everyday” foundation for when I run errands and I don’t need to look flawless, that’s why I decided to try it, and I have to say this product surprised me ! it’s a good foundation actually, it’s not full coverage , I would say medium coverage but it’s buildable and it can get almost full coverage, it’s not patchy, it’s easy to apply, it’s got a satin finish , it doesn’t set into pores and fine lines, it keeps my skin matte and it lasts all day! I’m so impressed by it, I love it and I’ll write a full review soon, in the meantime I highly recommend it for oily skin types like mine, and for dry skin too because I think it will work well for them !

I use it in combo with L’Oreal studio secrets smoothing resurfacing primer, which is the first face primer I’ve ever bought! I had one in stock and I’m currently using it, even though the Porefessional by Benefit is my actual favorite; here you can read my full review, it works well at minimizing pores and at keeping shine at bay, the consistency is mousse like and it feels quite greasy, that’s why many people don’t like it but, once you apply it it melts in with your skin and it doesn’t feel heavy at all.

L’Oreal studio secrets smoothing resurfacing primer

I set my foundation with Mac set powder, a very fine translucent powder that will last forever, because the jar is huge, but I don’t mind because I like it! It doesn’t change your foundation color, it doesn’t look powdery nor cakey and it sets your makeup and keeps it in place for all day. If you’ve got very oily skin you might need a touch up on your t-zone after 5-6 hours, I usually don’t and I’ve got oily skin.

I’ve been loving some of the new Kiko gossamer emotion lipsticks that came out a couple of months ago and they’re part of the permanent line, I love the creamy texture that allows a smooth and easy application, I love how pigmented they are and I love how they set into a semi matte finish and they last for at least five hours, I love these lipsticks and I’ll write a full review soon!

Ciao fatine,

L’Oreal studio secrets smoothing resurfacing primer

November empties aka all good things come to an end

Hi fairies,
this month has been hectic for so many reasons, I’ve just started relaxing a bit and I opened my empties box for the first time in weeks! I was surprised to find quite a few products inside, I was sure I didn’t use up more than two or three products!

empties_products

Let’s start with I Provenzali soap bar, another coconut one , which is my favourite! It’s a moisturizing soap bar with a very natural scent, it’s delicate and it can be used by sensitive skin types. I really like it and I’ve already repurchased it!

empties_products

my face scrub of the month has been The Body shop tea tree squeaky clean , formulated for oily skin as it’s got tea tree among the ingredients, and tea tree oil is a very effective antibacterial, used to cleanse oily skin and to keep imperfections at bay.the texture is gel like and there are micro grains inside that aren’t aggressive at all, actually I think this scrub is a bit too mild for my skin type, I was expecting it to be stronger . it did its job but I felt it didn’t cleanse my skin deeply, I’m not entirely satisfied with it and I don’t know whether to repurchase it or not.

empties_products

Let’s move on to hair care with Garnier Fructis fortifying mask and fortifying hair conditioner, two products I used in combo to detangle and keep my hair soft and nourished; they worked well, they are very rich so if you haven’t got dry hair they are too heavy, but they are perfect for my hair , they helped it look healthy and shiny!

empties_products

I ran out of another Mac studio fix fluid foundation, here you can read my full review. I talked about it several times, it is my HG foundation because it’s full coverage, it doesn’t look cakey, it’s got a matte finish, it keeps shine at bay and it lasts all day, basically is the perfect foundation for me!

empties_products

I tried Kaloderma Indian oil for the very first time, as you can see it’s supposed to get rid of black heads and impurities and to help with oil control; I can’t tell if it helps with black heads as I haven’t got any, what I know is it’s got a strong rosemary’s smell that might bother some of you, it’s a lightweight oil that doesn’t feel greasy, it moisturizes but at the same time it cleanses my skin and it wipes away any makeup residues that might still be on after my skin care evening routine.

empties_products

This nourishing shampoo for long and dry hair was in a gift box Sephora sent me last year,I had never heard of this brand and I was curious to try it! It’s a good shampoo, it’s not aggressive, it feels moisturizing and gentle on my hair , at the same time it washes them well and thoroughly , I have no complaints about it, I’d love to repurchase it in full size, I don’t know if it’s expensive, I haven’t checked yet.
empties_products

Another nail polish ready to go to nail polish heaven , yes I’m proud of myself for using it all up, even though this one was quite old, but still! With more than 500 nail polish bottles I’m always happy when I finish one! It was a gorgeous top coat, glitters were fine and iridescent , they matched so many colors and they gave any nail polish just a touch of sparkles, very classy and girly!

empties_products

My hair oil of the month has been the body shop chocomania beautifying oil: as you probably know, this line is one of my go to when I need a hair oil because oils aren’t greasy , they get absorbed fast, they smell delicious, they provide nourishment to my hair and they keep my curls bouncy! I use it every day on dry hair to keep frizz at bay, and I also use it as pre shampoo deep conditioning treatment.
empties_products

My body oil of the month has been I provenzali sweet almond oil, I recently wrote about it here, I love it because it’s very hydrating , it’s scent free, a little goes a long way and it’s 100% natural!

empties_products

Last but not least I finished a Benefit Benetint mini size! I don’t like this product at all, it’s useless in my opinion and it’s too pricey for what it does, which is slightly staining your cheeks. I’m very pale and it doesn’t show on my skin tone, on darker skin tones it’s totally useless! I used it mostly last summer for a very natural and easy look, but I would never repurchase it! here you can find my review.

empties_products

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more empties!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

A me piace molto e l’ho già ricomprata!

empties_products

Hi fairies,
in the last few years I started building and decorating a gingerbread house at the beginning of December, it's a Northern Europe tradition and I love it because it looks very festive and it's utterly delicious!
it's not that easy to build a straight roof and to make it look like a house rather than a hut, but I'm getting better, I need to practice a bit more!
I decided to paint it on my nails because , for me , it's easier than baking one, and I started by painting my thumb and my ring finger with a mint green nail polish, and the rest of my nails with a lavender one.
on the lavender background I drew a gingerbread man using a dotting tool: first I placed a dot just below the half moon of my nails , and this was his head, and then I added his body and four dots for his legs and arms. with white acrylic paint and a tiny dotting tool I painted his eyes, mouth and some decorations .
for the gingerbread house I first drew a white roof and then I filled the space between the roof and the tip of my nails in brown; I added windows, the door and decorations with white, red and green, and that was it, I hope you like it!

ciao fatine,

eye makeup look neutral with a graphic touch

hi fairies,
today’s look is a bit different from the usual, but it’s wearable and very original in my opinion! It’s simple and it can be toned down using neutral colors, or spiced it up by adding some glitters for example, all you have to do is following your inspiration of the moment!
I started by slightly defining my crease with a peachy eyeshadow and a fluffy brush: the background is very simple, all I did was applying a skin color eyeshadow all over the lid and then I defined my crease to give a bit of depth to my eye. Once I did that, I lined my lashline with black liquid liner, and I winged the line the way I usually do; you can keep the line thinner or thicker, according to your personal preference. Starting from the middle of my lid, where the pupil is when you look straight, I drew a second winged line, using a mint green shade and following the shape of the black line, and then I cut my crease in an unusual way: I traced a purple line starting from the middle of the wing and going up toward my crease, getting thinner as I went up into my crease, and that was it , I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

Hi fairies, I’m very pleased to have the chance to try the new Neroli Vivace line by World of beauty and I’m thrilled to talk about it to...
