One product review : chanel illusion d'ombre in fantasme

Today we’re talking of the only one chanel illusion d’ombre cream eyeshadow I own, fantasme , and you might wonder why I’ve gotten only this one when we all know how famous these products are.. read on and you’ll find out why!

Let’s see how it’s described: this intensely shimmering long wear eyeshadow offers true versatility. An innovative gel texture that is both soft and cushiony allows it to be worn as eyeshadow and eyeliner.

What I like: when I swatched it at the shop I was mesmerized by how shimmery it was: fantasme is a light , shimmery white with silver shimmer and when you apply it it releases lots of shimmer for a very sparkly , almost metallic effect. It’s quite sheer but I thought it was perfect in the inner corner or for a quick makeup all over the lid and I purchased it. The texture is different from any other cream eyeshadow I’ve ever tried, it’s soft as described, it reminds me of a mousse and a sponge, it goes back to its original shape after you press your finger in it. You know how much I love glitters and sparkles and I think you understand why I chose this particular shade and not the more famous epatant for example, which isn’t appealing to me. I like it’s long lasting and it’s very easy to blend, maybe because 90% of it it’s glitter. I appreciate it in summer, when it’s really hot and I can’t put too many products on my lids so I just put a thin layer of fantasme, eyeliner , mascara and I’m good to go! It also gives its best on top of eyeshadows, in the middle of your lid for extra shine, or in the inner corner. Price 36.00$ - 29.00 € for 0.14 oz

What I don’t  like: while for the first months it applied easily I have to say it has started getting dry pretty fast, and its texture changed from spongy to powdery , and that’s how it looks now. You can see it’s very dry and basically impossible to apply, it doesn’t stick to the lid and it doesn’t blend at all. It’s not old nor expired and I paid attention to close the lid properly, I don’t know what happened and if others do the same , if it happened to you please let me know. I’ve got drugstore products that are perfect , as good as new, after years, I sure didn’t expect a high end eyeshadow to do that and I’m very disappointed. After a couple of months I’ve noticed a subtle change and it started getting difficult to apply. As for the color, it is very bright and shimmery but it’s not unique and for me it’s not worth the money, that’s why I haven’t purchased any other colors and I’m not going to.

My verdict: my experience has been negative, I don’t recommend this particular shade, I haven’t tried any other and I can’t tell you if they work better, I hope they do! I think a highend product should be high quality and , in my opinion, this one lacks in quality: it got dry too fast with the result I can’t use it anymore, basically a waste of money .

Oggi parliamo dell’unico Chanel Illusion d’ombre che possiedo, il Fantasme, e probabilmente vi starete chiedendo come mai ne ho acquistato solo uno, vista la fama del prodotto…continuate a leggere e lo scoprirete!

Vediamo come viene descritto: questo ombretto a lunga durata estremamente brillante è altamente versatile. L’innovativa sensorialità della consistenza in crema-polvere, setosa, leggera e a lunga tenuta, è un invito al maquillage.

Cosa mi piace: quando l’ho provato , in negozio, sono rimasta subito colpita dalla miriade di riflessi argentati:  fantasme è un bianco chiaro con riflessi bianco argentei, che prendono vita non appena lo si applica , e regalano un effetto quasi metallico. La finitura è molto trasparente, ma ho pensato che sarebbe stato perfetto come illuminante nell’angolo interno oppure, per un trucco veloce, su tutta la palpebra mobile, e per questi motivi l’ho comprato. La consistenza è diversa da quella di qualsiasi altro ombretto in crema che io abbia mai provato, è morbido e ricorda un po’ una spugna, che riprende la forma originale quando non la stringete. Ormai sapete quanto io ami i glitter , quindi penso capiate perché abbia scelto fantasme piuttosto che altri colori più famosi, come ad esempio epatant, che non è riuscito a conquistarmi. Di fantasme mi piace la durata, ottima, e la facilità con cui si sfuma, forse dovuta anche al fatto che è composto per il 90% da glitter. L’ho apprezzato nelle calde giornate estive, quando non si ha voglia di trucchi troppo elaborati e quando è impossibile applicare tanti prodotti sulla palpebra: ne stendevo uno strato sottile, completavo con eyeliner e mascara ed ero pronta per uscire! Dà il meglio di sé applicato sopra altri ombretti, al centro della palpebra o nell’angolo interno, per un tocco scintillante al vostro look! Prezzo 36.00$ - 29.00 € per 0.14 oz .

Cosa non mi piace: per i primi mesi ha mantenuto la consistenza morbida di quando l’avevo comprato, ma purtroppo ha iniziato a seccarsi piuttosto in fretta, ed è diventato farinoso, si è sgretolato, perdendo la capacità di aderire alla palpebra e di essere sfumato. Nella foto potete vedere com’è adesso. Non è vecchio  non è scaduto, e sono sempre stata attenta a richiuderlo bene, non so come mai si sia seccato così velocemente, non so se è successo anche ad altre persone, fatemi sapere come vi siete trovate se ne avete comprati. Ho prodotti che costano molto meno che sono come nuovi dopo anni dall’acquisto, sinceramente da un ombretto di alta profumeria mi aspettavo una resa migliore, inutile dirvi che mi ha deluso. Già dopo qualche mese ha iniziato a seccarsi, e avevo notato che l’applicazione era un po’ più difficile di quando l’avevo comprato. Per quanto riguarda il colore, è sicuramente molto luminoso e pieno di glitter, ma non è unico e , vista la qualità, secondo me non vale il prezzo che costa, sicuramente non ne comprerò altri e non mi sento di consigliarveli.

Il mio verdetto: la mia esperienza è stata negativa, ma posso parlare solo per questo colore dal momento che non ne ho altri  e non so se la qualità è la stessa, spero sia migliore! Da un prodotto in questa fascia di prezzo mi aspetto prestazioni migliori, non certo che si secchi e diventi inutilizzabile dopo qualche mese, praticamente è stato uno spreco di soldi, ma ho imparato la lezione e non ripeterò l’errore.
