Mac haul aka diary of a shopaholic

Today’s haul is not a huge one, it’s products I needed to buy because I ran out of them, and they are staples in my makeup routine, I immediately run to purchase them when I’m about to run out of them. Basically I didn’t give in to any limited edition nor new collection item, I’ve purchased just what I needed, I’ve been pretty good!

Let’s immediately have a look at what I’ve got :

First product is the studio fix fluid foundation with spf 15, a product I fully reviewed here, which is my favourite foundation thanks to the coverage it provides, to its matte finish I adore, to how long lasting it is and to how the nc 15 shade perfectly matches my complexion! Price is 31.00 € for 30 ml/ 1.0 fl oz.

After applying foundation I fix it with powder to keep it matte as long as possible and to give my skin a flawless look; the mac prep + prime transparent finish powder is a translucent powder that matches all , or almost all , skintones , and it works wonders at keeping shine at bay . I’ve been using it for years and I talked about it a bit more in depth here. It is a very fine powder that minimizes pores and fine lines , and it can be used as a base before foundation as well, for an extra opaque result. It works really well both ways! A product I’ve never tried but I’ve heard good things about is the Mac set powder from the pro line, and I wanted to find out if it was really so amazing: I can’t tell you yet as I’ve used it few times, but I’ve noticed it’s finer than the prep and prime powder , it sets really fast and it minimizes pores quite effectively. It’s a translucent powder as well , it feels silky and smooth on skin and it keeps it oil free for around the same time as the prep and prime. We’ll see if it becomes my favourite, I don’t know yet! Price 25.00 € for 8 gr /0.28 US oz .

I purchased Mac  brush cleanser as I had just run out of a bottle : I wash my brushes with soap as well, but in my opinion nothing compares to this cleanser! You need the smallest amount to get rid of any kind of makeup and to have as good as new brushes, in fact I’ve got mac brushes I use on a daily basis that are 6-7 years old and you would never tell: they haven’t lost their shape, they have never shred , they work just like when I first bought them ; they are expensive but once you’ve got the basics you don’t need to buy lots of cheap ones, so to me it’s worth  buying few of them and cleaning them with this cleanser. Last product is another new one as far as I’m concerned, it’s the lip erase lip balm : as the name says it’s a lip balm the color of your lips, that prepare them as a canvas and it makes any lipstick shades pop and stay true to its color. As it’s a lip balm it also moisturizes and softens your lips, that’s why I suggest applying it as a base for matte lipsticks that, as we all know, tend to make lips dry. After trying it on I’m in love with it! My lips look fuller, smoother, and any lipstick lasts longer, I think this is going to be one of my holy grail product! Price 18.00 € for 3 gr/ 0.1 US oz.

I prodotti che vi mostro oggi non sono tantissimi, sono quelli che uso regolarmente e con cui mi trovo bene, che non appena finiscono vado a riacquistare perché non posso stare senza, e sono tutti prodotti Mac. Questa volta non mi sono lasciata tentare da nessuna edizione limitata o nuova collezione, direi che sono stata brava e ho comprato solo quello che mi serviva!

Vediamo subito quello che ho portato a casa:

il primo prodotto è lo studio fix fluid foundation with spf 15, di cui potete leggere la recensione completa qui, che è il mio fondotinta preferito per la sua coprenza, per il finish matte, per la durata  e perché la tonalità nc 15 si sposa perfettamente con la mia carnagione! Prezzo 31.00 € per 30 ml/ 1.0 fl oz.

dopo aver applicato il fondotinta fisso il tutto con della cipria per mantenere la pelle opaca il più a lungo possibile e per ottenere un risultato “pelle di porcellana” ; il  prep + prime transparent finish powder è una polvere traslucida che si adatta a tutte, o quasi, le carnagioni,  e che fa miracoli nel garantirvi un risultato privo di lucidità. La uso da anni, qui ne ho parlato un po’ più approfonditamente, è una polvere sottile che minimizza i pori e le rughette di espressione, e può essere anche usata come base prima del fondotinta, per un risultato super opaco. un prodotto che invece non avevo mai provato, ma di cui ho sentito parlare benissimo , è la polvere Mac set powder, che fa parte della linea pro, e ho voluto comprarla per scoprire se è effettivamente così eccezionale. Ancora non mi sono fatta un’opinione perché l’ho usata poche volte, ma posso dirvi che ho notato che la sua consistenza è ancora più sottile del prep + prime, che si fissa in pochi secondi e che è molto efficace nel minimizzare i pori. Anche questa è una polvere trasparente, molto setosa, che lascia la pelle liscia al tatto. Non so se diventerà una delle mie ciprie preferite, vedremo! Prezzo 25.00 € per 8 gr /0.28 US oz .

Ho anche preso una bottiglia del Mac brush cleanser, dal momento che quella che avevo mi era appena finita: lavo i miei pennelli anche col sapone, ma secondo me non c’è paragone con questo detergente! Ne basta pochissimo per eliminare qualsiasi residuo di trucco e per far tornare i vostri pennelli come nuovi, infatti ho dei pennelli Mac da 6-7 anni e non dimostrano la loro età: non hanno perso la forma, non mi hanno mai perso un pelo, funzionano come il primo giorno che li ho comprati; è vero che sono costosi, ma una volta presi quelli di base non avrete bisogno di tanti pennelli economici che durano poco, io vi consiglio di investire in pochi pennelli di qualità e di usare questo detergente per la loro pulizia, sono sicura che non ve ne pentirete! Prezzo 12.00 € per 235 ml/7.9 US fl oz.

L’ultimo prodotto è, per quanto mi riguarda, un’altra nuova entrata : il lip erase lip balm. Come dice il nome stesso, si tratta di un balsamo labbra color carne, che una volta applicato renderà le vostre labbra una tela perfetta per far risaltare qualsiasi tipo e colore di rossetto. Essendo un balsamo è anche idratante e mantiene le labbra morbide a lungo, quindi è particolarmente indicato come base per i rossetti matte , che tendono a seccare le labbra. Dopo averlo provato me ne sono innamorata! Le labbra risultano più piene, più lisce, e la durata dei rossetti aumenta sensibilmente! Credo che entrerà a pieno titolo tra i miei prodotti preferiti!  Prezzo 18.00 € per 3 gr/ 0.1 US oz.
