One product review: mac studio fix fluid spf 15 foundation

I think many of you agree with me when I say it’s hard to find the perfect foundation; we keep looking for it, we try high end ones, drugstore ones, we try liquid ones, mousse ones, mineral ones , and it’s just like a treasure hunt! when we think we’ve found it we then realize it’s not that perfect, and we go on hunting!

As you probably gathered, I am on my personal treasure hunt and I’m not done yet but, to be honest, I think it will be difficult to find a better match for my skin than this one. My skin is oily, keep that in mind: this foundation might not work well on dry skin, infact l think it doesn’t. it is the MAC studio fix fluid spf 15 foundation.

Applies, builds and blends easily and evenly. Comfortable and long wearing, helps minimize the appearance of pores and imperfections, giving skin a smoother, more flawless finish. What I like: I like that you can build it up to achieve the coverage you prefer; when you apply a thin layer of product you will get medium coverage and it won’t look nor feel cakey; you can add a further layer for high coverage. It’s got SPF 15 but I still apply sunblock because it’s not enough to protect my skin. The texture is not too fluid, it’s a liquid foundation but it’s not watery . I like how long it lasts, on my skin it doesn’t smudge all day, it stays on and it keeps shine at bay! I can see just a tiny bit of it coming true on my T zone at the end of the day, but that’s totally acceptable. It is a matte finish foundation, my favourite finish, and this one doesn’t look chalky at all , I think it has got a good balance between mattyifing power and looking natural. My skin doesn’t feel heavy , it seems to me it doesn’t clog pores. My shade is NC15 and it matches my skin perfectly.

What I don’t like: it comes in a glass bottle without any pump, so when it’s about to run out it’s hard to get product out and I’ve got the impression you waste quite a bit of it because it’s impossible to get it out at the end, so you just throw it away. They should add a pump , it would be way better and there wouldn’t be any product waste. You can buy it separately, but in my opinion it should come with packaging. I haven’t noticed a remarkable difference on my pores, it sure doesn’t enlarge them nor emphasize them which is great, but it doesn’t minimize them either. Maybe just a tiny bit but I still apply a base first. When I use a flat foundation brush to apply it it looks a bit stripey, I think because it’s not too liquid, and I need to work with my brush to make it look evenly and defused. I prefer a beauty blender with this foundation.

My verdict: it is , so far, the best foundation I’ve ever tried: I look for a matte, long lasting and buildable foundation and this one has got all these qualities without looking cakey!

Credo che molte di voi saranno d’accordo con me quando dico che trovare il fondotinta perfetto è molto difficile; continuiamo a cercarlo, ne proviamo di alta profumeria, di più economici, liquidi, mousse, minerali, è una vera e propria caccia al tesoro! In alcuni momenti pensiamo di aver trovato quello giusto, ma poi capiamo che non lo è e continuiamo nella nostra ricerca!

Come avrete intuito anche io non ho ancora trovato il fondotinta perfetto, ma credo che questo prodotto ci si avvicini molto, e non penso sarà facile trovarne un altro che mi possa soddisfare di più. Ho la pelle grassa, lo ricordo sempre, perché un fondotinta che per me fa miracoli può non andar bene per chi ha la pelle secca, ed infatti credo che questo nello specifico non sia adatto per chi ha la pelle secca. Parliamo del MAC studio fix fluid SPF 15 foundation.

Vediamo come viene descritto dalla MAC: un moderno fondotinta che abbina una finitura matte naturale e una copertura medio modulabile con protezione ad ampio spettro UVA/UVB. Confortevole e di lunga durata: resiste fino a 8 ore. Si applica in modo uniforme, la copertura si modula in modo veloce e semplice. Contiene pigmenti micronizzati e polveri soft focus per un look super vellutato che favorisce la diminuzione delle imperfezioni.assorbe e disperde l’oleosità. Contiene speciali ingredienti dermo rigeneranti. Privo di olii. Prezzo 27.00 $ -31.00 €

Cosa mi piace: Mi piace che si possa modulare a proprio piacimento per raggiungere la coprenza desiderata; se se ne applica un strato leggero si avrà una coprenza media e l’effetto sarà naturale , non troppo pastoso ; basterà aggiungere un altro strato per ottenere una coprenza alta. Ha un fattore di protezione SPF 15, ma io applico in ogni caso una crema solare a protezione totale come base per proteggere la mia pelle completamente. Ha una consistenza non troppo liquida: pur essendo un fondotinta liquido non è affatto acquoso. Sono molto soddisfatta della durata, rimane al suo posto senza sbavature per tutto il giorno, e mantiene la pelle opaca! A fine giornata si inizia ad intravedere un po’ di lucidità nella zona T, ma è del tutto accettabile. Ha un finish matte,il mio preferito, ed al contrario di altri fondotinta simili non crea un effetto “maschera” ,ha un buon equilibrio tra l’effetto opacizzante e un finish piuttosto naturale. Non appesantisce la pelle, mi sembra che non occluda i pori. La mia tonalità è la NC15 e si abbina perfettamente alla mia carnagione.

Cosa non mi piace: la confezione è in vetro senza pompetta dosatore, quindi quando il prodotto sta a metà non è facile farlo uscire, e più se ne consuma più si hanno difficoltà. Verso la fine ho l’impressione che se ne sprechi parecchio, perché si è costretti a buttare la bottiglia quando in realtà ci sarebbe ancora del fondotinta da usare. Secondo me dovrebbero aggiungere un dosatore , eviterebbe sprechi e sarebbe molto più agevole da usare. Lo si può comprare separatamente, ma andrebbe incluso nella confezione a mio parere. Non ho notato un effetto di riduzione dei pori notevole, posso dire che non li enfatizza né li allarga e questo è già un buon risultato, ma non li rimpicciolisce significativamente. Io applico comunque una base quando voglio un effetto pelle di porcellana. Quando lo applico con un pennello a lingua di gatto per fondotinta, tende a fare delle righe, credo che dipenda dalla sua consistenza non troppo liquida, e devo sfumarlo molto bene per eliminarle ed applicarlo uniformemente. Preferisco usare il beauty blender con questo fondotinta.

Il mio verdetto: è, fino a questo momento, il miglior fondotinta che abbia mai provato: io ne cerco uno che opacizzi, che duri a lungo e che sia modulabile, e questo possiede tutte queste caratteristiche e non appesantisce la mia pelle!
